As I said, EH is a FUNCTION of your armor and your stamina.

You're still not correct. I don't care to read that over and over again and point out every error made by you, but the biggest one was assuming the Glyph's value was ~150 stamina, as that depends on your current stamina and armor level, thus you can't possibly know it's value unless you have that information at hand.

It really depends on what you want to be doing. If you are pugging, stack as much stam as possible. Healers won't bitch/notice that you are taking more damage then other tanks (unless you get 1 shot, but that's another issue). All pugs care about is Total Health Pool (you have 30k health, but take no damage vs someone using both brewfest stam trinks, 50k health but takes a shit ton of damage, the 50k tank will be picked). This shouldn't happen, but it's alot easier to compare tanks using their health (like comparing healers with how much sp they have...which is really stupid).

Now, if you are running with people you know, find a balance between your HP and EH. Make sure you have enough HP before stacking armour/avoidance in pace of stam. Between 30-40k unbuffed HP is more then enough, so you can start using avoidance/mit gear in place of pure stam gear.

Strictly speaking for pre-raiding, BiS would be "The Black Heart" and "Essence of Gossamer" trinks. Both give you a good stamina boost and have passive mitigation procs. Once you have leveled up the rest of your gear to more of a raiding level, The glyph becomes better than gossamer/brewfest as you get to higher levels of health. Glyph is definitely nice to have, but I would stick with the gossamer until u have your tanking tier 9 gear and ring first from heroics.

Well, you're wrong. Go read the effective health calculations.

I should add that armor obviously isn't worth it on a fight where death may come from spelldamage, but once a tank overgears content (Y'know, that happens when you've got the gear that drops from the dungeon), additional stamina will do him little good as that's only throwing more shit into an already large enough pile of shit. What a tank needs to do when farming content is to ensure he cannot die from the worst possible burst he could get.

Now, let's go abit in depth on that argument and use ToGC as an example (Don't fret, won't be that long): Gormok has the worst possible burst, but he's also made pisseasy by having 3 tanks, high enough DPS, and some brains, which enables any self respecting prot warrior to rotate cooldowns for all his impales, making it a freaking cakewalk. That puts the required effective health to actually survive the damned place pretty freaking low, meaning that additional armor, while adding equall, if not more (Assuming a tank with 42kish unbuffed HP) EH, against a full phsyical mob, also reduces incoming damage, making it the clear winner, while not reducing rage income nearly as much as avoidence would.

I can't say how good the Glyph is for ICC as a whole as we've only got 4 bosses thus far, but it seems like it's uses haven't run out yet.

hmm are you sure?? because when i put my character on RawR it always shows glyph ABOVE both Satrina's Trinkets i have

Rawr is wrong, and you're sadly very misstaken when using rawr for tanking comparisons, becuse unlike for DPS'ers and healers, tanks have to directly gear to survive whatever the boss throws at them. If the deadly bursts are 50% spelldamage, 1700 armor is vastly inferior to 200 stamina.

That being said, it's value is not diminished, and on fights where the large majority is phsyical, it's a great trinket.

That can be gotten after a few WEEKS of heroic farming every day for the daily frost and weekly frost, yeah. But then again, that requires raiding. Unless you just do the 2 a day. Which will be a while.
