    Algalon10

hello, just some basic info first,
We're a 25 man casual raid guild, we raid 3 nights a week but we're not that far in hardmodes (1/5 Togc25), we clear normal modes rather easily and the core of the group has done Togc10 5/5 with 45 attempts left, now we were wondering if we could do Algalon10 and we're getting the key soon enough.

now we're looking for some basic advice for algalon apart from a few questions i have:
what would be the best way to approach it? zerg it in the 1 hour and discuss tactics before and after that?
is it better to run with 2 or 3 healers? (note we've done anub togc10 with 2 healers)
howmany ranged / melee do we need?
is any class a must-have apart from a shaman for BL(note we can get priest/druid buff from scrolls)?

thanks for answering my questions and for your advice
oh and please don't comment on the casual part, i don't want any casual vs elitist, just some advice and answers

    Re: Algalon10

If you can do Togc10, those two healers should be able to do Algalon 10.
(Especially if one of them is a Paladin.)
Algalon tanks need big heals repeatedly. One will be spamming the tank with big heals the whole time.

Im not dps (Im the tank healer) but it seems like the main thing is dps'ing the stars at the right time.
If you kill too many in a row, or too close to eachother, you will kill someone.

Make sure the tanks are switching before they get five stacks and phase out.

Everyone but one person runs into collapsed stars for Big Bang.
A tank with high HP or someone who can use special ability to survive shadow damage must stay out.

Move out of Cosmic Smash damage and you win.

    Re: Algalon10

The big bang isn't shadow damage, it is a physical hit, somewhere in the region of 65k I believe on 10man, a fairly well geared bear druid can survive the hit without any cooldowns used.

Preferrably take 3 healers, it eases the mana issues that you might encounter, 5 DPS should be able to do the job perfectly fine. You will have the one DPS on stars duty the whole time, burning one at a time as soon as they become active to keep the timing right (you can essentially ignore Cosmic smash happening at the same time as a star blowing up, if people move far enough there is barely any damage taken). Just make sure to kite the constellations and sort out who takes what Big Bang.

If you can prepare yourselves beforehand with tactics and a good prep at the boss, you should be able to down this guy in the first hour you encounter him, given how over geared you now are for this.

The easy mode tactic is to have a shadow priest glyphed dispersion in your setup soaking every big bang. Obviously the normal tactics apply incase you dont understand ill run through fast.

Stars - 4 should be killed after every big bang. First 4 big bang, come out of big bang next 4, come out of big bang next 4 etc. (Note make sure your star killer picks the correct stars they tick down hp dont pick one at 100% if one is 30%)
Red circles - void zone move away closer you are more damage you take
Star dies black circle spawns dont use it till big bang
Constellations (big blue balls) spawn 4 between each big bang. Get the tank not tanking to taunt and drag them over the star void zones to close them. Leave like 2 portals up max.

We use the tank strat 3 debuffs about 35 seconds on that debuff the next tank taunts takes like 2 and the big bang comes and the shadow priest soaks it. The first tank then comes back out of the portal and immediately taunts off the spriest before he dies.

For you id 2 man heal it Paladin druid or paladin priest take competent dps and its so easy now you get like 1 big bang or 2. We had a group take 1 this week while boosting 2 randoms for title.

Take a melee setup if you want to have the easiest kill setup and a hunter for stars.
