    oculus pops too much

    seriously, I have done oculus now more than ever since the LK expansion came out.
    for this reason I have decided to not do a single oculus ever again. FUCK IT !

    Oculus has a habit of popping more than once a day; if you leave group it'll pop again.

    therefore, you must get saved to it !!

    when oculus pops, go until first boss, then leave.

    Its insanely quick with minimal trash and very easy bosses. stfu, you're lucky.

    And how will that help? It's because of people like u, that Oculus pops so much...

    Think about it: a DPS goes random, get's ocu, then proceeds to leave. The grp goes to find another DPS and the DF imports one more DPS to a grp already drawn out for Oculus.

    On another note, Oculus is way too easy after the patch. I get someone in my grp who gets Make it Count each run. If ppl know what to do, Oculus is way too easy, so stop the QQ!

    EDIT: The DF also ignores any lockouts. It's just that u have a decreased chance to get a dungeon ur saved in, but then again it increases in oculus when someone leaves it all the time...

    the previous weeks, I have done it 4 times per week. From now on I will NOT DO ANOTHER ONE !

    EDIT:
    I agree, it is quick and painless... but there's tons of other instances! I want VARIETY and I hate vehicles !

    it isnt that bad an instance. But frankly i find it stupid.. The encounters are absolutly crap and i´ve always and will always hate the vehicle nightmare wow has turned into..
    All this stress about getting decent gear and bam and instance where you could be friggin naked and lets you stupid dragon do the job..


    Farging stupid blizz should kill the designers of Occulus.

    But still i find it to be quick and painless.. Usually

    quick and painless, okay i dont see ur issue then

    and yes there is a ton, but random is random

    variety, well theres not that many anyway. i've had HoL tonnes, but you dont hear me whining

    and theres only 1 boss that requires you to fight on a vehicle. the rest are transport for getting to trash/bosses.



    i can't see people's issues.

    Havent gotten it a single time on my newly dinged Death Knight, 7 parts Tier 9, DPS+tanking rings, DPS trinket and 1 Sigil (365 emblems if I'm not wrong).
    And I actually want Oculus for the achievement and I don't really have anything against it.

    ive had it pop about 15% of the time, maybe 20% as tank heals and dps, but its faceroll easy, and 3 (puggers) mannable, so who cares

    You say that random dungeon system is random, but it is not entirely. Unfortunately, the dungeons you'll get most often depend on your gear and the other people's gear. I get Oculus on my paladin once or twice a day, but I got it once on my druid. Once.

    Also, of course it's easy, but it's not fun and it's annoying. I got Oculus today with two people who have never done it and two people who were idiots. We spent five minutes after the first boss talking about the drakes. I was tanking and the conversation went something like this:

    Hasn't Done It 1: Which drake do I get?
    Dumb Idiot 1: DPS gets the bronze drake.
    Dumb Idiot 2: No one's getting red?
    Me: I have red.
    Dumb Idiot 1: The tank should have red.
    Me: The healer gets green, the tank gets red, the three DPS get bronze.
    Hasn't Done It 2 (is the healer on a bronze drake): Oh /flies down to get green
    Hasn't Done It 1: I can't get a drake
    Dumb Idiot 2: Why doesn't the tank have red?
    Me: I have red
    Dumb Idiot 1: The tank should have red, the healer green, and the DPS bronze. Tank get a red drake!
    Me: This is true and it's what's happening. I am on a red drake.
    Dumb Idiot 2: Who has a red drake?
    Me: I have a red drake.
    Dumb Idiot 1: We aren't using a red drake?
    Me: ...

    etc etc in that fashion.

    The two people who hadn't done Oculus were unable to understand their abilities. They also didn't understand that the drakes were just for flying around until the last boss, even though we told them.

    We explained every fight for the people who hadn't been here yet. The DPS who hadn't done it before ended up standing on top of frost bomb until he died from the DoT, after we explained not to stand on it (took about a minute and a half for him to die, this was after the boss was dead). I told him "great job killing yourself," and he obviously got all uppity and was like "I'm sorry I don't know what I'm doing I haven't been here before," and both me and another guy told him that we told him not to stand on frost bomb and that his death would have been avoidable if he had moved.

    Once we got to the last boss, we spent 3-4 minutes explaining how each person uses their abilities and what do do during phase shift. I told the healer to watch his own health because healing others drained his health. He died after the second phase shift and the only reason we didn't wipe is because I had aggro and was competent enough to pop evasion every cooldown and take no damage until the Ley Guardian was dead. The lock also had his drake die and had been DPSing the Ley Guardian from the ground, and thought that our success was entirely his doing.

    This is why I hate Oculus.

    rng is rng. just because the chance is smaller if you're tagged does mean it's nil (had a consecutive streak of four heroic oculus the day the patch went live... must be something about having the achievement on only one of my lvl 80 toons :P )

    If you see this as a problem:

    1) Don't leave an oculus group if you can help it.

    2) Encourage everyone you know that plays to do the same.

    3) Find more important things to worry about.

    It's not that bad of an instance, I've always kind of liked it for trying something new.

    These days it's quick and painless people just qq over not liking it back when it took a little effort.

    And to the guy who said WotLK was a vehicle nightmare, sure there's a lot of vehicle quests while leveling, but I wouldn't say it's a 'nightmare.'

    In pve, there's 1 5 man with vehicles. (the drakes.) There's the third phase of malygos, which I I can agree with not liking because it doesn't let you get used to the drakes before hand, the Flame Leviathan fight and trash in Ulduar, one out of what fourteen encounters there? And then there's the cannons in the gunship fight which other than the 2-4 characters in them are not in vehicles, it's not that bad in pve.

    In PvP I can see your point with Wintergrasp and both new battlegrounds having vehicles, but if you don't like them don't pilot them and leave it to others.

    TLDR, imho the vehicles add a bit of spice and help mix things up, bringing a bit more variety to the game.

    This. I've gotten in Ocu so many times only to see 3 people standing there waiting with buffs that have ticked for a few minutes.
    Speaking of rng, I did my daily frost dungeon on 4 toons yesterday, all 4 got DTK... how's that for random?
