Demonology... Is it worth it?

Yeah, demo is a good, no, great raid utility to have. Depending on SP (from gear) the more the raid gets. In my case when demonic pact procs the raid gets 400sp. okay, yeah thats better than totem of wraith, but the dps for the demo lock really isnt great until the boss gets under 35%. Affliction is really good now, and im just wondering what other locks are doing atm.

Look up how much DPS a point in spellpower is sometime. Easy to find via scale factors and simulationcraft. 400 SP is +120 over Totem of Wrath. Most casters are at +2 DPS or more per point of spellpower. If you have 6 casters that's over 1400 DPS, which is greater than the difference between Demo and Afflic. Right now as Demo I give 430 SP and we typically run with 7 casters. I would need to do 2100 more DPS as Afflic for it to be worthwhile. As it stands I only do 1200 more DPS as Afflic on tank-n-spank fights and the only fight I really care about right now? I do more DPS as Demo due to cooldown usage on AOE.
