I'm pretty sure that if you were to use the T10 Leggings, and then use http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50983, you'd be saving yourself a fair amount of money, and getting around the same stats back, and having the same amount of gem slots.
To mention too the T10 legs are better than T10 gloves, so it evens out a tad more.

A quick 'what if' comparison in Rawr gives me 80 more dps using crafted legs and tier hands. Suboptimal, of course, but a reasonable alternative if you can't afford to buy the legs. I think that covers it.

Worth considering if you get the T10 legs from VoA. Long term, we'll be overflowing with frost emblems, so you can eventually get pretty much everything.

Here are some quick DPS calculations:

Good (maybe BiS) non-heroic gear
Emblem Gloves: 12526.50 DPS
Crafted Legs: 12538.26 DPS

BiS heroic gear:
Emblem Gloves: 14150.67 DPS
Swizzle's FAQ: 14113.88 DPS


Hmm... interesting. Gems might not be right though, and we're missing socket bonuses on a lot of gear. I'm going to play around with the optimizer some more.

Optimizer is giving me this as the BiS selection. I wasn't super thorough, but it's definitely topping the list in the FAQ. I didn't allow multiple DFOs, but DFO277/DFO264 should beat this combination. I also filled in socket bonuses for everything with sockets and no bonuses, assuming everything got a 5/7/9 sp bonus according to the number of sockets. Enchants are only mentioned for my profession enchants, otherwise they are the defaults. All items are ilvl 277 (heroic) or ilvl 264 (heroic). DPS score is 14221.76 in Rawr 2.3.6.

Okay, if I don't include the San'layn Ritualist Gloves in my optimization, Swizzle's setup is beating out the emblem gloves at ~14170 DPS.

Best setup with the emblem gloves is: 14162 DPS. Only differences from Swizzle's setup:
Death Surgeon's Sleeves 277 instead of Ether Soaked Bracers 264; Emblem gloves instead of 277 T10 and 277 T10 instead of crafted legs. And some gem changes.

Neither beats the San'layn Ritualist Gloves setup, though. I'm going to spend some time playing around with non-heroic setups, since I think they're more interesting until we know Arthas loot next week.

You can say all that, its cheaper or a decent alternative, yes.

But who, in their right mind, wouldn't want the best for the character (unless they're lazy or don't give a shit. In that case, you shouldn't be playing/raiding)?

Farming gold for Saronites could take a week, maximum. If you have level 80 alts, then even better. I managed to get all 8 of my saronites in a week, with 4 alts doing the Random Heroic each day and the Weekly Raid each week on all of them. Ask your friends if they need their Ebonweave/Spellweave cooldowns (or that dont use them). Managed to steal my friends and had all 10 within 4 days.

I'd rather spend my tokens on things that I'm not going to be changing, ie 4 part tier10 + Leggins of Woven death, that are BiS (until Arthas loot is announced, which I highly doubt will have legs. Even if he does, only the heroic mode arthas legs will be better than Leggings of Woven Death).
