You need:
A recorder
An encoder

You might want:
A Movie editor to make it look pretty/help encode

Windows: FRAPS is the best recorder, but gamecam and the new Wegame client are halfway decent if you are on a budget
encoding, download X264 encoder and use that, it's really good. You should be able to use windows movie maker, but it's not the best.

If on a Mac: WoW has a built in recorder
Use iMovie to make it, with X264 encoder.

The absolute easiest, cheapest and basic way to make a WoW video is using a combination of a recording program called Fraps and editing your clips in Movie Maker.

Use Fraps, gamecam, hypercam or even WeGame's software they provide for free.
