Instead of the Bracer enchant. If you are a LeatherWorking shaman you can get the buff from that.

Cheers, added that in.
What is with the Glyph of Water Mastery? Is this a bad Glyph?
Your +int stat description is not complete. Two very important points are missing which help to understand the high value of int for us:
Int not only improves your Manatide (which is more like a side effect, see EJ calcs), but heavily pimps Replenishment which is your most important mana regen source apart from water shield!
Secondly we have an int scaling talent and we grab additional crit from it. That is also "only a nice sideeffect", but all these side effects together make it so f*cking powerful as a gem choice if you lack good gear in most of your slots (normally this is wearing pre T7.5/8 armor pieces)
It provides you with 30 mp5 and does not improve the proccs from the shield itself! So it is a bit like the Elemental Weapons Talent. It provides a decent, but static bonus! Since there are now very efficient ways to gain through other stats, mp5 boosted and CH added to Imp.WaterShield there is -no- reason at all to choose lousy 30mp5 over one of your powerful healing enhancing glyphs.Originally Posted by VaanFaneel
I didn't check how much of this was quoted, but this is so basic information every resto shaman on the planet should know and does know by now if he/she had raided a bit since patch 3.1 This is not some super secret progaming information or world breaking news.Originally Posted by Senthyth

Steamcaller's Totem is dead! The procc from Totem of Calming Tides is so awesome and you can easily manage to retain an uptime of 80%+
An EJ calculation states that if all your healing is CH (which it is ofc not in reality) then an uptime of 77% is enough to overthrow Steamcaller.
What I am trying to say: If you heal cross and Chain Heal is every second or third spell you cast: Get your hands on one of those! (cost: 25x Triumph). You can use the buff to recast pumped up EarthShields or throw in some wickedly high LHW crits. Not to mention 30.000ish Chain Heals.
If you are tank healing and your tank is not being pounded so hard that you are able to throw in a chain heal once in a while you should prefer this totem over the arena ones. A higher ticking Riptide and EarthShield may save your tank while you have to move or cannot heal for any other reason (just think of freya+3 or algalon).
Glad I could help >)Originally Posted by pearroc
I agree that totem is brilliant. Just a shame you need the badges for tier gear so many people arn't getting it.Originally Posted by BlacKcuD
But yeah you can easily keep up 100% up time on it, its lovely :P
Like all the others in my guild I started saving for our first setitems and doing daily heroic like crazy since the raid instance itself yielded only so few emblems. But then when I was around 40 badges I red about the totem on EJ and just hit the button and bought it and I must clearly say: If you like Chainheal than you gonna love-wtf-<3 this!
Explenation from EJ by "rava"
SourceSteamcaller affecting base is a smaller gain than 234 spellpower. 234 spellpower would be the equivalent of 314(234(2.5/3.5)*1.88) base healing for chain. Even if chain was 100% of your healing the Coliseum totem would only require 77%(.77*314=245) uptime to surpass Steamcaller.
You mention some cast times, but can you tell me a min number to shoot for as far as haste?
We talking haste numbers or cast times of a certain spell?
With t8 4set bonus you want to be looking at chain heal at 1.8cast time, to get that you want around 15% spell haste, or more. Which is around 500 haste rating. (this includes totem of wrath and boomkin/ret haste).
Thank you
2.0 is the absolute minimum you should aim for (without t8 bonus), better 1.9. theoretically with everything inclueded a chain heal cast time of around 1.6 is possible without gimping your other stats too much (according to some rough calcs i read on ej some time ago).Originally Posted by irismoon
Wearing a rounded gear from Ulduar (including Alagalon and all HMs) and not socketing +20 haste everywhere you end up around 1.75
I don't know how Tidal wave effects Chain Heal can someone explain a little more on this? I don't see anything in the tool tip on it. I have 507 haste (not in group) my chain heal is at 1.9 cast time with totem down.Originally Posted by pearroc
The phrasing is saying "since tidal waves no longer makes LHW go under 1sec cast time, haste is very useful for all your spells." It wasn't saying tidal waves -> CH.Originally Posted by Hoodie
Ahh that first sentence is just very poorly worded then... anyway thanks for clearing that up for me!
Edited, hope should be easier to understand now. Can see how it could of been confusing now.Originally Posted by Hoodie
So now that we are going to lose our 4piece t8 are we going to be stacking haste gems in gear to get to that magic number again>?
Thats what im currently doing. 771 haste so far. Looking to get more.
Haste is the way of the furture :P
Its a nice guide, but it looks like a short version of Mek' guide.
This is fine if you have an alt your healing with or just trying out healing, but if your serius, read Mek' guide and try to play with your spell abit.
I think the big difference is mine isn't a guide its an FAQ
Im not going to go into as much detial as its just meant to answer all the questions we kept getting asked on this forum.
But yeh meks guide is very good, checked it out recently and it does go into alot of detial, especially on character control and general tips.
