So... did your ranged tank just fail at life that you had to do this?

    1. Your Ui is WTF!??!?
    2. Yeah cause your hp wasnt spiky all your doing is making the healers job harder.
    3. learn to strafe so you dont get hit in the back and can still parry etc

Can not get it, how you made him hit you in melee for minute - chain interrupting o_O?
I tanked him yesterday (as pally), but he was casting all time
    Aldoraan Ret Pally since 2.4

in our group, as most of the ranged play like they have no arms and can't seem to see big glowing balls of purpleness, i tank the ranged one since they removed his meleeing ability (DK), and we have a dps respec to tank to tank the 2 melee adds with another usual tank, and apart from that, 2 ranged dps, 2 healers, and 3 melee dps.

    so overall setup is:

    3 tanks
    2 healers
    2 ranged dps
    3 melee dps

He was tanking both of them from what i saw, so he had the spellcaster on him, and a melee one on him, so you saw the melee one, and didn't see the spellcaster one which was way back hitting him

and oh yeah, getting hit in the back is serious biz.

I'm curious as how to keep threat on the ranged one... eventually healers should be higher in my mind...

but the only reason I'm posting is the raidframes. it seems the poster had all three bosses in a focus-like frame to the far right. it's probably all the marked people but what addon does that? I know there's something for arena but I don't give a damn about arena, I want it on bossfights.

Or another easy tactic: Let one tank grab both the physical ones and other tank take the caster.

We didn't have a ranged tank, hence the tactic.

This post wasn't made to get advice, it was made to show people a way to handle this boss differently, but thanks.
The ranged tank's hp is way more spiky than the tank in this vid fyi.

My group is doing this tactic (but im only on caster and other tank is on both melee) from verry beggining and its works aswell, but warr tank with intervine/charge/intercept on this shadowballs is even better :P

Doesnt really matter. We did the "one tank has caster and one has both physical" tactic

The one that knock backs is the empowered shock vortex thing and that is a casted spell that melee should run from

    Amazing sig compliments of Alyajna!

I don't understand why you have your own HP in 3 separate frames (looks like 2 from xperl and one from whatever that mod with the baubles is). What confused me even further is why you have grid AND party frames...

Not trying to insult you or anything, but that UI is seriously cluttered and inefficient.

    it works.

why are you tanking both ranged and one of the melee adds? much easier if the other tank takes both melee ones, this would lead to you not taking constant hits in the back when trying to gather the orbs.

also clean up that ui mate

maybe because it works for him? tons of people think my UI is cluttered and is tanking up tons of space but hey, it works for me. btw this thread is about an alternative tanking method not his UI

This is not an "alternative method" This is how it should be done in 10man. Every guild on my server does it with 2 tanks so I don't know where people are getting the "ranged" tank idea from. Maybe from when Kelseth Melee'd his tank before the nerf, but now that he doesn't there is no reason to have a 3rd tank. Just my 2cents.

And omg my eyes are bleeding - UI.
