    That is really cool.

Yep. The same one that was formed as a side project of some of the former In Flames members. I've been a fan for quite a while but haven't been keeping up much with them since they've been inactive for years. The last significant thing they did that I can think of was a new album in like 2007 or 2008.

BMTH definitely took a turn. Not necessarily for the worse, just different. I like it. Though I'm not sure you can consider this Metal anymore.

What is it with UK/Ireland and their based folk metal bands?

So.....been drinking rum and going through random "suggested videos" and such on YouTube since I can't seem to sleep tonight (had a long shitty day, and long shitty days usually end in the above mentioned situation for me). Have found a few new (to me) bands that I'm enjoying. I've never heard of Decencya before, but as a big fan of bands like Dark Tranquillity, I've loved everything of theirs I've heard so far.

These guys are really good, they are easily one of my biggest discoveries of this year.

Just found this thread and showing my age here, but I am going to see my favorite metal band this Saturday- The Metal Gods themselves: Judas Priest!

I absolutely loathe those vocals. I've frogs in my backgarden that sound more menacing.

Didn't have high hopes, but even so they managed to thoroughly disappoint me. Which is all the sadder, what with Vallenfyre sounding friggin' awesome.

Some more good doom. But yeah, when it comes to doom, I always find myself going back to the classics because there isn't enough recent stuff I like..

It reminds me a lot of the older Swedish DM, like Dismember, but with vocals that sound like a mesh of Van Drunen and Schulinder. There are some weak points on the album, but the good stuff far outweighs it.

I also liked that Horrendous album a lot (I was shilling for it a few posts ago). Personally, the old school melo death sound (like Dismember that was mentioned) was what won me over completely.

Here's the new EP from probably the best newcomer space black metal band of the last years (U.M.A. is one of my favorite albums in that genre). Mare Cognitum, Darkspace, and now this, what more can I ask for this year?

edit: lol they went full space ambient on this one, it's still stellar though.
