Quel'dalar as fury.....which sword?

Was wondering what sword to take as fury. I would think it would hands down be the stength version of it, but after fiddling with Landsouls spreadsheet, it says that the agil version would give me more overall dps. Only reason i could think of this, is because of the extra crit and the Arp on it. Any help with this choice would be appreciated.

The agi version is a lot better than the str version. =/ for Fury that is at least. I'm not sure as arms.

The fact that you even went to maxdps means that you made the wrong choice before you selected which weapon.

i checked both landsouls spreadsheet and maxdps.com and both confirmed increased dps from stam/str version

so - can you back up your preference for the agi version with ANY facts apart from "its better"

MaxDPS.com is total crap, but I'm curious to see what Armory results you could possibly be using that would rate the STR sword as better with the spreadsheet. Gimme a link and I'll play with it when I have time.

MaxDPS may be crap but Landsoul's spreadsheet certainly isn't.

It depends heavily on your gear as to whether the strength version of QD is better than the agi one, and also on what raid buffs you have.

Remember, Landsoul's spreadsheet assumes by default that you have the best range of raid buffs available to you so depending on your gear you could be approaching the crit cap, or could be seeing stats being multiplied to a useless level.

Try deselecting some of the buffs, or selecting the buffs you are likely to see in your raid make up and see whether it still says the Strength version is better. If it is then profit, if not then start lamenting your poor choice of the wrong sword.

Not really, the STR ring is total crap compared to the AGI rep ring too. This isn't quite as simple of a comparison, but it's not that hard to run either.

The STR Quel provides 164 STR, 99 Crit and 91 Haste. The AGI Quel provides the equivalent of 74.6 STR, 215.4 Crit and 91 ArP. Leaving alone the ArP vs. Haste for a moment, it's 89.4 STR vs. 116.6 Crit. Unless you're at or above the softcrit cap, the Crit easily wins; even if you are above it, it's relatively close... and for ArP vs. Haste it's not even a contest, the ArP wins by a ton. The X-Factor here is the weapon speed, but that's a fairly small contributor to DPS so I'm really not sure what's causing the STR Quel to show up ahead in your calculations.

and yes maxdps is a bit of a "redtop" site but its not complete crap

landsouls was a bit more marginal and I reckoned that going forward Str was likely to be better stat for fury warr

I used to have the str version of QD but, I put in a ticket and got the Agi version instead. Agi version for offhand is wicked.
