so why is it that alliance always has to go into horde territory?

just did the valentines day boss and guess who were waiting for me at the door? yep horde and lots of em. why is it that blizz always makes alliance go into horde territory to do a daily boss for a world event? we have to do it for headless horseman and now these dudes.

this isnt a qq post either,im just really wondering why alliance always has to go into horde territory and horde have yet to have to come in one of our zones

The Brewfest-boss was in a Conquested zone and once you had the teleporter, it was really easy to gain access...
It's just that not many dungeons-in-alliance-zones offer the chance to house an event-boss...

Don't worry. We will get our time on Talk like a Pirate day when people have to enter the Deadmines to get their Battle-Ship Multi Passenger Water Mount!

On a more serious note: Proper bosses or places to find for these bosses are hard. Blizzard tries to pick the best places, and I do not mind going there if they drop nice stuff.

Also: Moved to General. Has nothing to do with Cataclysm. (The OP part)

Well, Gnomer is just a maze and it is harder to get into Dun Morogh then it is to get into Silverpine. You could use the Booty Bay teleporter as a horde, but I don't know if many people know that it exists
Why is the shield generator always outside the shield?

    Because Blizzard favors the horde?

Seriously though, I don't know. I don't mind though... I love standing by the summoning stone waiting to Judgement of Justice passing allies and should they get passed me, my boyfriend's ele shammy is waiting on the bridge with Thunderstorm.

    Sweet, sweet ally tears. >=9

It shouldn't bother you unless you're on a pvp server. And if you are then isn't that what you want? Pvp?

Re: so why is it that alliance always has to go into horde territory?

Let's look at the "Alliance Options"

Deadmines: The most likely Alliance candidate for a world event boss has a few things against it 1) The nearest Horde FP- is at Grom'gol, by land one has to go up through STV, into Duskwood, and left into Westfall. One can water walk it however. 2) The main reason DM won't get picked? Its theme, how, outside of Pirate's Day, do you work in the Defias Brotherhood?

Stockades/Gnomeregan: Never going to happen. These just aren't in Alliance territory, there sitting either in the middle of, or very close to, a capital. Gnomer is even worse due to its layout; there would be no end to the QQ from players.

    vs.

SM: very thematic place, and while yes it is close to Undercity, its also not far at all from an Alliance FP. It is easy at least to get to.

SFK: I don't know if I'd necc. think SFK is the best place for Love is the Air festival (see, I think Princess Theradras/Maruadon would have been more fitting but whatever) but again, its relatively close to an Alliance FP (Southshore) and easy to get to.

In short, the two Horde ones are well, simply better dungeons, and easier to get to for both factions (whereas the Alliance ones would only be easier for just Alliance, barring a Hordie having the transporter device)

Erm...Scarlet Monastery isn't easy to get to. It's a good long run, much of which is through Horde capitol territory. Probably only slightly easier to get to than Deadmines. I'm not 100% sure how the Booty Bay transporter works, but I'm pretty sure it makes getting to Gnomer easy, right? And don't talk about people not knowing about it...put it in the quest description for it!

Good long run through Horde territory!? North by Northwest from Chillwind Post in WPL (Contested) is pretty easy if ya ask me, and then as soon as get past the Bulwark its almost due north. As for the Goblin Transponder, one must have taken the Rig Wars quest chain (and then not destroy the transponder at a later date). To be honest, I doubt that many Horde members actually have the transponder. They can try to see if they can get the quest from Scooty in Booty Bay (near the Tavern), and unlike the Brewfest teleporter, the transponder is only good for yourself.

and wait, does it even matter anymore? You can just teleport in anyhow :-)

so then it just comes down to this: SM and SFK are just better dungeons than Stockades and Gnomer.

im not complaining about the pvp, i just realized that the alliance dont have one like it where horde have to run through us and wondered why that is.
