    Resto Gearing Question

Question is; last night i got lucky in VoA and got the 264 resto legs, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=51193 now ive read that the best 4 parts to use are helm/shoulders/chest/legs with off piece gloves, but equally my current legs are ranked as 2nd BiS at the moment.

So do i stick with what im wearing at the moment? or try and get some different gloves and equip the set skirt?

    Cheers for any advice

Stick with what you got. Just wait until you get the unclean surgical gloves (Heroic) then you will be good to swap over.

According to EJ the crafted legs are infact the best offset piece.

They need to change the graphic on those crafted pants. They are ugly as hell. It's the druid tier 10 pants graphic, and I feel dirty wearing them.

Source? You can't just say "according to EJ" without linking to what EJ has said.
Also from the EJ Restoration thinktank:

    ******* Best in Slot ********

Assuming no four-piece Tier 10 bonus:

    * Use two pieces of Tier 10 (helm & shoulders)
    * Use two pieces of Tier 9 (chest & gloves)
    * Use the crafted legs

With four pieces of Tier 10

    * Use four pieces of Tier 10 (helm, shoulders, chest & legs)
    * Use non-set gloves

    Re: Resto Gearing Question

Cheers for the feedback, and also to pull something off EJ

the BiS legs are infact either http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49891 or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49900

but equally the BiS gloves are http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50703

now if you go for the total BiS list your gonna be left with 3/5 on the T10, and having now gotten some experience with the 4pt bonus i dont see myself dropping it any time soon.

so the question pretty much is, is better to go for Tier legs and offset gloves, or Tier gloves and offset legs.

Common consensus seems to be stick with what i have now until i get better gloves, which is probably what ill go for.

I would do exactly that synister, probaly the bests course of action. Once you have the gloves you can always test which you prefer.

Looking down the priority list/HEP values the legs are better.

EDIT: Had a closer look and it's completely up to personal preference because they're both extremely similiar options.

Ok to make things clear. Legs are better option before hardmodes, so if u are full ilvl 264 gear go for legs. But the Unclean Surgical Gloves are better option if u start to roll with heroic gear - ilvl 277.

    Re: Resto Gearing Question

All of the above seems quite clear but I was wondering whether this also applies to someone who is raiding 10man content only? More specifically, the resto shaman is my alt and is only going to raid ICC10 normal for a while (guild is not up to Heroic yet).

After I get the Head and Shoulders (Harhar!) from my emblems, what pieces should I persue?
(and please ignore VoA for a moment as I haven't been too lucky with those).

    Cheers!

For 10 mans only I'm not sure if the 4 piece is even that viable. Depends on your healing comp too.

9 times out of 10 dual 2pc,(t9+t10) will be better than 4p t10 for 10mans

as for the legs vs gloves argument

non heroic use lightning infused legs, plus get double duty out of them as ele legs, then hopefully pick up the set legs in VoA saving you some badges

if you have heroic unclean surgical gloves use them

    Re: Resto Gearing Question

Just to add my pessimistic 2 cents in ... as someone with incredibly bad RNG, I would never build a set around one select piece of hardmode loot. Build around what is obtainable now, and then rejoice if you have to switch things up. I would venture that 4pc + crafted leggings is much more within your reach than a hardmode item; forestalling your healing gains with 4pc because you're holding out for those gloves is simply counterproductive.

And I'm definitely siding with Coma and Pearroc on the 2pc combo. T9 + T10 is an excellent solution for 10s or for fights where CH is less than ideal.
