Actually scratch the racial weapons. Lets have class weapons

Mage = special type of staff
warlock = demon swords
Priest = holy maces
Death Knights = scythes
Hunter = ranged weapon pew pew
warrior = badass two handers
rogues = Katars
Paladin = mace
druid = ? guessing a staff of some sort. Naturized. O.o
shaman = Uh something shaman like.

I'd love to see this kind of Class only thing happen again but it'll come down to, even if they make all the stats EXACTLY the same people will be like : "BUT HES LOOKS COOLER I WANT IT" and either Reroll that class resulting in class imbalances or QQ on the forums about how Blizzard always favors X class.

Thats more of a spear/javelin if you saw the movie you know that they throw those a lot, a polearm is too heavy to throw effectively

Scythes? A death knight's iconic weapon is a massive, wicked-looking two-handed sword. At least, the death knights as we play them, former champions of the Scourge. Rogues and warriors should get weapons based on their specializations--you can have the best two-handed axe in the game and it won't help a warrior for squat if he's specced protection. Druids' weapons are also dependant on spec--ferals like 2h maces and polearms, Balance likes staves and 1h DPS caster maces, resto likes healer caster stuff. Shamans typically stick to one-handed maces and sheilds for elemental and resto, so an item like Thunderstrike/Shadowstrike that can be Used to switch between healer or DPS caster would be nice for them. Enhancement is trickier since they can make use of two maces, axes, or fist weapons.

-id like to see "holy" maces have their own class called scepter.
-dual wielding pistols so hunters can shoot in melee would be boss but i think they made us weak in melee on purpose :\
-a glaive like darksector
-scythes would be nice

forgetting all that, id really just like new (good) models in new content. my heart died a little bit when i realized the lich king drops had the same model as other drops in the zone. why not do like they did KT in naxx. i dont recall Journeys End or Envoy of Mortality sharing models, several others were unique models to (many on 10m seemed to share tho). i can understand normal version and heroic version of the same encounter sharing a model, but i dont want something off the lich king looking like something that dropped off marrowgar. maybe thats just me.

Random question of the day. If there would be new weapons in cataclysm, what would you guys want?

I personally saw someone on mmo suggest something about pistols or arm-crossbows for close range combat and i thought the idea was great. Could also be nice to have flails/whips/(w/e name for demonslayer blades in wIII)/Katanas/chakrams etc.

So in short, what kind of new weapon would you guys wanna see?



p.s I'm aware there were no talks about new weapons in cataclysm, this is just generic hopes and dreams ^^

Only time I've seen those demon hunter weapons have a name, they wer just called warblades and they are in the game and are technically under the sword classification... katanas too... I personally think they need to add flail type weapons if not as their own thing then as maces... whips... maybe... I'd also like to see more scythes (as polearms and staves) and more variety to throwing weapons... oh and totem weapons like the tauren used in war 3...

Hunter-only dual-wield pistols. Base one of the trees around it and maybe survival and marksmanship will stop feeling so similar. I'd so roll a goblin with two pistols.

What about a way to obtain old world weapons aka the old staff and legendaries and then when you hit 85 start a chain that will continue through each expac to upgrade to a current item level.
