Yes I read the sticky first. I have the latest drivers and direct x. I did the fix for the latency too. My fps always seems to be from 8-15 in dungeons and if I'm lucky I can get 20 standing some place by myself. My latency isn't usually high, around 100-200. I close all of my background tasks and disabled the combat log. All my settings are on low too.

Only thing I can think of is maybe overclocking it. Anyone else have any suggestions as to what I should do? I know the comp is old but I think I should be able to get maybe a little more fps out of it.

Well... your system is really outdated but the thing that's killing you the most is that you don't have a dedicated graphics card.

If you could tell us what motherboard you have, then you may be able to pick up a PCI-e graphics card for ~100 bucks to get you up and running smoothly. Hopefully you don't have an AGP motherboard in which case your choices are very limited to outdated cards.

OK well the good news is that your motherboard does have a PCI-e slot so you will be able to upgrade your graphics card. The bad news is you might have to upgrade your PSU as well.

My budget is prob nothing over a couple hundred because I do plan to get a gaming laptop this summer but I would like something that I can run wow at maybe medium settings and get 30 - 40 fps if that's at all possible.

A couple of hundred will be plenty to get you where you want to be. Now the next question is what power supply do you have now? It is very important because if you have a budget power supply then you could risk it with a med or low end graphics card which doesn't use a lot of power or you could go with a new power supply and new graphics card which would probably cost you around $200 bucks.

Then the question is will the PSU fit in your OEM PC. Since you have a brand name PC (Compaq) it may use a power supply that is different than the typical one sold in stores. Not sure if things changed, but that's how it was about 7 or 8 years ago when I upgraded my old HP OEM PC.
