i need help with prot paladin macros too many buttons

hello i just hit 75 and i was doing good. i have the following on my skill bar

1-hammer of rightous
2-judgement of light
3- hand of reckoning
4- holy shield
5-concecrate
6-avengers shield

these are the main ones i use....since i can keep moving with WASD and still press them. with 7, i have to move my hand or click on it. 7 is hammer of justice which isnt that important i think.

now i just got to 75 and learned shield of rightousness. now i have more than 6 important skills. none of my 1-6 buttons are macros.

1, 2, 4 and 5 are just spammed by me all the time without any thought. maybe i can put them into macros but i do not know what the macro should look like or if i can put them together.

can u help me with prot macros so i can put them all between 1-6?

Just make some simple keybinds like mouse wheels and buttons, I also use any keys other than WASD + shift/alt/ctrl variations of keys. Will take a while to get used to, but will make things easier in the long run.

I don't know if macros are any good for prot paladins, but maybe.
But with the keys that you currently use, adding Q, E, shift+Q, shift+E will get you a long way.
Also it will give you better feeling for what your character actually is doing.
Eventually you can do it without thinking about it, which will decrease your reaction time, which is important for tanks.

I have over 20 keybinds.

Using a castsequence macro is the worst thing you could possibly do. You'd be better off just clicking and keyboard turning and I am dead serious here.

Learn how to use modifiers (shift and ctrl are the only two I use) and you'll be fine. Also map your letter keys. I find that it is very uncomfortable for me to bind anything past #5 so I use Q, E, Z, X, C, R, F, V, and G.

i play a prot pally for pvp , so far most of my damage abilities are on my razer naga mouse, i'm still trying to put more on it, but it has helped, i still use q,e ,r f coz their easily reachable and i've gotten used to em but as the guy above mentioned, using modifiers is also a very powerful way to go(heck i need to start using a few myself)

ow and you don't have too many buttons at least till you try 3v3 and have to create macros for each member

Bind Avenger's Shield to Shift+1 or something like that.

I use 96969 macro, I fall asleep sometimes with it.

Macro'ing 9/6/9/6/9 is bad mmmmm'kay.
Try binding stuff to shift + 1, 2, etc. Or control, alt.
Bind stuff to Q, E, R, T, V, etc...
Even ~ is a good one as it's right next to 1...

The thing is you have a lot of tools which need to be used FAST most of the time, although not ALL the time.
A good example is Hands of Protection. This can save a teammate if used correctly, even in 25 mans.
I use a mouse over macro bound to T, so that when someone needs it, I just mouseover their name in my raid frames, hit T and go back to tanking.

There's more to paladin tanking than holding threat!

My setup (mind you this is just my lvl 76 alt, so it might not be ideal):

1: Shield of Righteousness
2: Hammer of the Righteous
3: Holy Shield
4: Judgement
5: Consecration
Ctrl + 1: Hand of Reckoning
Ctrl + W: Avenger's Shield
Ctrl + E: Divine Plea

Other stuff like wings and shieldwall is just spreaded around other Ctrl combinations. Stuff like Hand of freedom/protection/salvation and taunt is sorted in grid+clique.

Edit: Thought behind the first 5 keys is from the 69 tanking idea. 1 and 2 would be the 6 macro, 3 4 5 would be teh 9 macro

I would either say to key bind your spells past 6 to Crtl+" " you could easily keep playing without moving hands.

or another option would be to key bind them to letter under 1,2,3,4,5,6.

I click the ones past 6....

If it helps, a 5 button mouse or that Razer MMO mouse would help, as you can bind other skills to the side mouse buttons (not the main ones you click stuff with)
