    To gem ArP or Agility? (Kitty DPS)

    Hello fellow druid community!

    Here is my armory:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...cn=Shifthappen

    To give my stats in summary, I currently have (unbuffed) in cat form:

    8.4K AP
    125 Hit
    1135 ArP
    54.7% Crit
    19 Expertise

    I was wondering what I should be gemming for? ArP till 1400 or Agility?

    I have 4 piece tier 10, thus rake DoT crits are quite valuable to me. I remember reading somewhere that if I was able to attain 4 piece, then I should aim for white crit cap before ArP but I can't seem to find that source anymore.

    Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

    Wow since when did these forums get so Agg?

    I was just asking a question about what to gem post 4 piece tier 10. Wasn't sure was all. A simple "ArP" would have sufficed...

    they probably have no clue so they answered like smart asses. You honestly have a very difficult situation.. your trinekts are, sorry to say, garbage* however considering neither proc arp i think you're ok gemming arp. to answer the 4 piece and crit question, agility and therefore crit become alot more valuable which is why you shouldn't gem arp till the thousands. however arp becomes better and better as you get more, so at a certain point it's better to start the hard cap and then after that you want crit cap (with hit and expertise coming into play to raise the crit cap)

    @littlepiggy

    Thanks for the constructive post. I may test out to see what would happen if I swapped all my ArP gems for Agility to try to go for white crit cap and see how my dps goes. I remember seeing how some druid kitties can go 65% crit unbuffed, and I'm asking myself how I can reach those numbers with the gear I currently have :/

    @Draoi

    I have been reading the stickies, and if you have been reading them as much as I have, you would realize it says nothing about 4 piece tier 10 and the value of crit with rake. Which is why I'm here to ask and hopefully receive constructive stuff posts, or else I wouldn't have asked at all.

    Is trying to learn really such a thing looked down upon in these forums?

    the only thing that could have answered his question is it says 1190 arp to hit hardcap. most people will take this as THE number to get, but in reality there is no number. sure it's near that number but again it all varies based on YOUR gear. it says nothing about 4 piece and crit. to be completely honest the FAQ is lacking, the information that is in there is good.. but if you look at other FAQ's there is quadruple or more information in them (no offense to the writer, as i said the info is good just lacking)

    also gear has A LOT to do with your crit, i'm full arp gemmed and if i recall correctly i'm a few % off crit cap.

    1190 = 85% armor penetration. People who know alot about math have decided that this is the point that gemming straight armor penetration is better than the soft cap for armor pen(1400-yourtrinketproc)

    Crit cap is 74% on white swings IF YOU ARE HIT AND EXPERTISE CAPPED.

    crit cap is 77.8% on your character sheet if you are hit and expertise capped, blizzard hotfixed it and it's been tested by EJ and WoW druid forums theorycrafters. show me a link where someone says 85% is the number to aim for an i'll believe you, if not i'm sticking with Demoneater's theory.

    Oh wow, you are sitting @ 51% crit in caster form! That's amazing!

    I guess you are right, as long as I keep gaining high end gear, I can fully gem ArP and my crit will go up as well!

    Thanks a lot, you just saved me a bunch of red gems that would have gone to waste!

    keep in mind that if you do not have your weapon skill at max, your crit in caster form will be lower than what it *should* be, however this does NOT affect your crit in cat form. you have 38% crit in caster form, but if your staff skill isn't maxed armory / char sheet won't be as high as it could be, it makes it hard to judge crit for feral

    yes this man is right. def get hit first. u need at least like 230 as a feral. any more than that is kinda negligible. next since u do not have grim toll or anything like that with the armor pent proc, u should go armor pent as much as u can since mst of ur damage is going to come from auto atatck and shred. agility would be good if for ur rake and rip damage but seeing that u have more than 50% crit i think armor pent would help more sicne ur rake and rip will crit now that u have that 4p. just make sure u get the right amount of hit. and imo u should have5/5 feral agression, but thatss just me. i like seeing the 30k+ fb crits

    you don't NEED any hit as a feral until high gear levels, sure it makes a smooth rotation but good druids are on the verge of gemming it for the FIRST time this entire expansion

    your opinion is fine, 5 talent points for 15% more damage on a move you use 3-4 times a fight? those points are better off in other talents

    If u use it 4 times a fight, it is likely to crit each time, which in icc should be at least 30k each time which =120k damage. how would you take 30% swipe damage over that, when u dont even use swipe on bosses. Imp swipe is just feeds ur ego when ur doing trash. Granted some fights u need to aoe, but u can still pull great numbers without imp swipe. Do damage where it matters, on the boss.

    And for the hit part of ur comment, lemme post a situation to u.... u are doing ur rotation and u miss ur hitting with mangle, or worse rip. u gotta try and reapply that which not only wastes time but ur other buffs arnt going to stop winding down because u missed. Be safe, get the hit cap i mentioned. and it will be easier to dps.
