virus on the site?

Not sure where to put this, but anyways I just went to the shaman forums and when I went into the faq for shamans post I got a popup that's basically a trojan. What it does is it comes up and says your computer is infected with trojans. It then goes on to say its performing a scan of your computer and says its infected with literally hundreds of trojans. Ive seen this before on other sites and its a scam to get you to buy a virus program to clean all these fake trojans off your computer. Anyways I ran a scan of my computer with my virus scan and it comes up clean.

Not sure if anyone else experienced this on this site. Just a heads up, not sure what you can do to get it off your site since Im no computer guru.

It sounds like you just have adware from somewhere else.

You have been infected with a virus hidden in your system folders. Not many virus scanners pick these up. Best thing to do is reinstall windows. Or even a full format of your hardrive before it does serious damage.

Next time dont visit any bad, untrusted sites.

Actually, i just jumped onto mmo-champ to see if there was any new info about the new patch. On the home page itself, i was redirected to some other site where my anti virus flipped out and blocked a trojan that tried to get on. I believe that one of the ads that get displayed are linked to this trojan.
This has never happened to me before, but i would love for some kind of response as "We will look into this" from a admin or something.

^ Yep happens to me....well not all the time, but always with random sites. Mmo, Yahoo, Myspace or Facebook. It's an aggressive maleware thingamuhgig (yes that is the technical term :P ) just close the window and reload the interenet and you'll be fine.

Seriously - wasn't mmochampion, maybe you should stop downloading porn in IE6 or only download torrents from 'trusted' people.

Well yea, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out, although if the OP is like any of these people in random lfgs.. its his/her fault. My guess is op has a virus from before thats popping up crap, including fake warnings that look like his antivirus program, and when he saw the fake popup saying it blocked a trojan and stupidly clicked something, he infected himself more.

lol trust me it is a virus on your computer. The fake virus programme is probs called "virusblaster" or something similar and has a nuclear warning symbol on it or a guy with a gas mask etc or a bug.
There isnt a virus on here. I am using a commercial version of Kaspersky which would of definately picked it up.
I am also using a software which notifies me and asks me whether to allow changes in the system.

MMO will say the same thing.

If you are being redirected from this site to a malicious one, you very likely already have a virus on your system that is changing how your browser functions.
