Fresh 80 Paladin. Curious about things in PvP.

If your emphasis is PvP with a paladin, save yourself a LOT of trouble and go holy now, before you grind out an entire gear set and then realize that it's a mistake. Ret is a joke in arena.

I should have mentioned that I'm referring pretty much exclusively to BGs and not arena. I loathe arena and although I've done decent in it with modest ratings, I still hate it and find no fun in it and will not center any part of my gameplay around it.

tbh righteousness > command. You're not always gonna be able to hit your target with melee and righteousness has the stronger judgement dmg

For Arena, yes. but in a BG, where most of the time the match is not balanced, command has the potential for higher damage across multiple targets, making healers easier to kill and slaughtering large groups.
