Blood-Quenn Lana'thel and Vampiric Bite

On blood queen fight despite all my efforts to gain vampiric bite, boss keeps biting someone else. I am highest on dps list with about 14k dps as a mage but still boss uses the ability on others. I have 1 points on arcane reduction talent since it is mandatory for not gaining aggro. Is there anything else to do to gain the buff first?
We even tried the tactic where i pull the boss and tank gets the aggro with a taunt but still it is not working..

Nope, this is not true. Our OT was 4th on threath, and the bite went to number 6. The week before OT was 2nd, and the bite went to number 5

In my experience it has always been the one who was third on threat.

We've always had it bite a random ranged. I can tell you it doesn't bite 2nd highest threat or highest damage dealt.

It may be something like bite random ranged with significant damage on the boss since I've never seen a healer bit first either.

Part of it seems to be 'effective threat.' This means that threat enhancers such as misdirect or TotT don't seem to have a real effect on it. It's a difficult thing to actually plan for, and really, it's better to just plan exactly where the second bite is going, then to try and plan who will always get it first.

we found a realy good method to get the person biten we want to.
at start of fight only the 2 tanks and 1-2 dps u want bitten go attack the boss but be sure ur healers arent spam healing cos they will get bitten because of aggro.
then after the first bite evry1 nuke

BQL bites the target who is under offtank (Player with Blood Mirror debuff) in raw threat without misdirections, tricks of the trades or threat reduction talents. Addons such as Omen are 3rd-party addons thus they are unreliable source of the threat because they aren't updating as fast as possible.

heck, I once was bitten as a holly pally, I had the aggro buff up. Erased it and it never happened again

I don't know why so many are trying to plan for a single individual to get bitten first. It doesn't remotely matter. The way we do it in my guild is whoever gets bitten first bites a melee (or if a melee gets it first, a ranged). Beyond that melee bite melee, ranged by ranged. The first 2-4 people are almost always the same, it really doesn't need to be anymore precise than that.

It's just been explain multiple times that threat modifiers such as this don't work when it comes to bite targets.

Like many others, supposedly higher threat/more damage etc will get you higher on the bite list. On our attempts last week, it was not so.

As someone else said, as long as the raid knows the priority of who is to get bitten next, it doesn't matter. (10man at least)

Bite is random on the next few people in her threat. I'm usually one of the first dps to be bitten, but there are others who would benefit more from it. I hold off as much as I can at the beginning of the fight, but for some reason about 1/3 of the time she still comes for me. Just tell the others to hold off on the dps until she bites, but it's hit or miss (no pun intended).

Any types of modifiers that add or reduce threat don't factor into the combo. It's as simple as keeping your tanks at the top, then the dps you want to get bitten as 3rd. Just have your heals and other dps wait a good 10-15 seconds before they really get into it. When we were learning this fight, I was actually doing too much threat (over the main tank by about 110%) so our second mage or sometimes a healer would gain aggro.

Order matters a lot of 25m heroic. If I get bitten first I generally sit at 22k dps. If somebody else does, they may not. For regular mode, yeah do whatever you want, but chances are people who care about bites in regular mode are pushing the enrage, too, so it probably does matter for them.
