Most absurd things done by PuGs in LFG - Old World

Being a bit of an altaholic myself, there are some strange, strange things that I've seen happening in dungeons...

Of course, there's always the normal, confused people like the paladin in Scholomance yesterday who was pulling about 80dps. Using a one hander with no shield, he was specced into ret, wearing a helm with +47 spellpower with a BRD libram enchant for 10 stamina on it (?) and all of the rest of his gear was either mp5, "Of the boar", or "Of Spirit". I asked him if he had, you know, real gear and a weapon, because things were dying awfully slow, and of course I got the peevish "I'm not here for your critique man, I'm just here to play the game" garbage, self righteous mumbling that everyone else tries to pull. He ended up pulling all the students in the room in the middle, dying, saying I'm a bad tank and leaving the instance.

But seriously, the death knights... We were doing LBRS and this death knight somehow falls down into lower city from the very top of LBRS. Doesn't die, falls into a spot where he isn't moving in a safe spot, somehow... but then pulls a pack of mobs. Of course, our healer has a hot rolling on him from the top, and instantly, you see a bunch of names underneath us flash "CHANGING TARGET". Uhoh.. Death knight dies. Waiting, waiting... "Why didn't I get healed?" LOL. As we're laughing, we see the biggest swarm of mobs you've ever seen (Literally, the entire instance worth of mobs) charging at us, we make a futile attempt to stem the tide, kind of like seeing a Tsunami coming and putting up your umbrella, wipe and swear at the DK for a while.

We're doing Stratholme. I'm starting to tank mobs, as usual, the dps is doing nothing, but I notice something strange. I keep losing aggro randomly, to this Warrior who's doing about 1/3 of my damage.. I look at him, he's in Full General Gear from level 60, but he's using a sword & board. Wait a second.. is he full prot? Is he in d stance? He's actually taunting mobs? I ask him about it, he says "Oops, forgot to switch to fury" LOL. Yeah, I always forget to switch to fury when I'm *shockwaving* and *TAUNTING* mobs from my tank. I ask him if he can unforget and actually put on a weapon, silence ensues. He does the rest of the instance in Dstance, randomly taunting mobs at his own pace.

So many stories, not enough time. What do your PuGs do that is not just incompetent, but actually insane or completely unable to believe?

I was doing heroics on my rogue and got in a group with a prot pally, 2 rogues and a resto druid, we decided the prot pally to heal the resto druid to dps and us rogues would switch tanking by trading TotT, quite fun imo

To be fair, I often play dungeons and watch series/play online poker at the same time. it has happened to me before i was healing all the instance until i finally read some of the party chat "you're supposed to dps, bla bla", forgot it's actually possible to be selected to dps when u choose healing/dps.

TL;DR version: thanks for boosting me and ppl like me while semi afking through instances.

I leveled my rogue as sub, and since i had an easy time getting behind the mobs, i always pickpocket'ed mobs in instances...

So, i was doing a SM Cath run, when the pala tank suddenly stops up and writes in /p,
i quote: Lol, rogue, stop ninjalooting you bitch, put it on group loot! (i wasn't even the leader )

This was before the random dungeon system, by the way

back in vanilla leveling and simply doing group quests was TERRIBLE. not to mention half the people had no clue what they are doing resulting in failed 45min baron runs, over 3 hours spent in the Grim Guzzler or my favourite ...................wait for it...............making UBRS raids (OH THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Playing a Druid alt who sits at level 56 right now.
Getting into a group for BRD Prisons as a healer, which is actually my offspec.
Rolling for feral gear as we go along, a Warrior starts screaming at me for rolling on dps gear as a resto Druid.
I kindly ask him if he has ever heard of dual spec, and he replies 'I will roll on spellpower gear from now on'.

After that he continued to roll need on every single item that would drop (not just equipment).
After 5 minutes or so the tank (and leader) decides to votekick him and we cleared the last boss with 4 man.
    What is worth fighting for?

doing sfk the other day on my priest healing it...we had a very retarded pala who refused to give me bow, i ended up letting him die, which lead to him saying *REZ PLZ* repeatedly, needless to say I just left him lieing on the floor and we finished the place 4 man.

    Sounds a bit harsh tbh.

Getting buffs in low lvl dungeons is so uncommon nowadays that I'm positively surprised when I do get it. Specially from paladins. And if they actually refresh them when they run out (without having to ask 3 times), you've found yourself one unusual low lvl paladin.

Going into deadmines we got a druid tank, who then began taking mobs via rooting them and casting wrath repeatedly :>

While leveling my last alt I went to Uldaman. We wanted to do Ironaya and went to get the Gni'kiv Medallion and The Shaft of Tsol. I got the medallion and ask the rogue who got the shaft to hand it over, so i could open the door to the boss. He refused, because it was a rare item and he "won the roll fair and square". I explained to him what the amulet and the shaft do, but get the slight feeling, he doesn't trust me.

He then demands that I give him the medallion and I reluctantly agree, because I figure he wouldn't know how to use it. The moment he got the second piece he leaves the group and the dungeon happy with his new rare items...

It's not harsh at all. And those people who don't buff shouldnt play they game. I'm leveling my paladin who is about 30 something and im happy to refresh the buffs they want.

Not rezzing someone who constantly spams REZ ME deserves to run back or stay dead. when i did mana tombs on my lock a week ago we had this warrior who would die and scream at the preist to rez him while we were fighting.

    Dear developers,

please nerf Rock, it's too overpowered. Paper is fine, however.

Random LFG pug for RFK, group is mid-20's.

Right off the bat, a dps'er drops group before we start. Group leader clicks to find a replacement, druid healer cancels out the role check. Repeat three or four more times back to back, druid healer keeps immediately shooting down the role check.

In party chat, we're asking "what's going on?", because it's not like the person is timing out on it afk, they're actively immediately dismissing it. The druid in question never says anything whatsoever in party chat the entire time.

Druid healer proceeds to shift into bearform and starts pulling mobs back toward us. At first we're not sure what's going on, so I tank them and we take them down. Then the druid goes for some more. This happens a couple times, and in party chat we decide that we're going to just let the druid die.

The ingenius thing about this whole griefing concept is that even after tomorrow, we would've never been able to kick, because the druid was keeping us in combat constantly!

Eventually the druid dies, and the player just sits there not released, not chatting, not doing anything, still constantly batting down role checks. Eventually one of the dps'ers just drops, and I follow suit, because we'd have to wait out the 15 min to kick anyway, which coincides exactly with the LFG system cooldown.

Actually a positive story... Yesterday I was in a ZF PUG. After clearing the stairs and the final boss, the tank and one of the DPS left. Me (43 priest healer), a rogue (44) and a Ret Pally (44) with no shield decided to press on to Ghazrilla (sp?) for the carrot on a stick trinket. We actually cleared the entire room around the pool (definitely a challenge with that group) and downed the big Hydra to complete the quest and get a very useful trinket. It was actually quite impressive considering the 3 man group w/ no tank, but it was a ton of fun. I am absolutely loving the LFG tool (especially as a healer who gets groups very fast).

This reminds me. I was also doing Uldaman, I had the Medallion, and our tank had gotten the Shaft. The tank was a feral druid that obviously had no clue what he was doing, didn't know the instance and didn't know the basics of tanking. He kept spamming chat with "swe?". I happen to be swedish myself, but I refuse to acknowledge that kind of behaviour.

Another guy in the group is also swedish and starts trying to explain to the tank what to do. When we eventually get to the point where we need to use the staff to open door to Ironaya, we try to convince the druid tank to hand the shaft over to me. He's very hesitant and keeps asking what it does, which we try to explain. After a few minutes he relents and seems willing to give it to me. He puts it in the trade window I had opened earlier and asks:

    "2g please."
