PvP marks...

Now that the new patch has made them not the currency of the PVP mounts...
Does this mean that the fact that I have been grinding AV for the past 2 weeks is irrelevant? I cannot use those marks to get the mount still?

Or is it grandfathered in? As in I can puchase the mounts with the marks, but then also get them for honor?
