OH. the woes of being a geared player. In order to stay current frost badges us geared players must force ourselves to carry other fresh 80s through heroics. On a bad battle-group what should be a 20 minute pleasurable experience morphs into a nightmare. I dread hitting the button "find group" on my LFD.

That being said, us geared players were once horribly geared, but we somehow overcame this "obstacle" and are now the cream of the crop; the magnum opus if you will. I am all for giving geared players the chance to gear up, hell its easy now with free triumph badges and welfare loot. But don't make the geared and experienced players go through Dante's Inferno. I can carry ALL the dps in the group, it is them that is not the problem. The overlying problem lies with the tank.

Blizzard needs to implement a gear score system when matching up players. No, a 3800 gs tank can not and will not be able to hold aggro over a 6k gs dps. It is physically impossible. And it isn't the tanks fault.

If I am forsakened enough to find myself to be paired with a lowly tank, I usually pull aggro with one dam incinerate... after waiting 10 seconds for the tank to get aggro. So a simple fix to matching noob tanks with geared dps is simple, give us the geared tanks. Let the less geared tanks go to the lesser geared dps. It will save alot of headaches for both the lowly tank and the highly dps.

So, I do understand the reaonning, but I actually do disaggree a bit.
When I 1st went into heroic, I was with a chaman doing 6k+ on bosses, and I still could ( just ) keep aggro, and my gear was sh**. So it is possible taht everything does fine.
Now, when you say that you pull aggro with 1 incinerate, there is a problem with the tank ( if you have waited a bit )

You speak the truth my casual brother ;D I find it to be more fun to raid with casual players, they have a better attitude than the hardcore crowd. Hardcore players always find faults in players, point out low dps, or brag about their achievements. Casuals should be entitled to everything hardcore players get.

This, sadly, not everyone is "6k Gearscore" like you, and people may still need things from triumphs, if you do not like this, queue with your guild, stop complaining.

All I am asking for is that noob tanks get noob dps and that decently geared players get decently geared tanks. This solves the gear gap and it won't cause headaches for the geared dps pulling aggro from the noob tank, or a noob dps slowing down a geared tank.

Also what if the person with 6k gs has no guild? It is possible to pug to 6k gs (I have pugged all of WOTLK).

Second of all, its a heroic, if you're complaining about "carrying" some heroic geared people so you can get two fucking frost then you are at fault. As for stupidity, get over it, morons won't go away because you want a 20 minute heroic for some easy frost.

its a 20 minute wait for my dps toons to get in as it is dont add anymore time to my wait jjust to match my higher gs please, ill struggle along just fine and learn to curb my dps a bit even though my e-peen my shrink because im only doing 4k dps when i know if i had a better geared tank i could be hitting 6k

Well, you still have the choice. If you are kept alive when you pull aggro, who cares. If not, you can still simply use 1-2 rangs lower spells, reducing your aggro enormly. Or you choose a target that you can blow up without it reaching you. After you blow one up, the tank should have enough aggro on the rest of them.

No they don't, how is it right if going through a run the tank actually spends very little time tanking because their gear cannot match the output of an ICC25 player. Classes with poor aggro suppresion like warriors, warlocks and ferals to a certain extent really don't stand a chance in hell of staying under the tank whilst giving them some decent lead time.

All that is being asked is that Blizzard don't throw fresh 80 tanks into groups with people in close to the bleeding edge gear, because its not fun for anyone involved. Grouping them with people who have finished the truimph badge grind will be fine, the runs will go off without a hitch and probably does as intended, ie the tank tanking, not the monster DPS thats been throw in. Afaik the LFG is designed to group better geared players with less well geared players to make the average speed of dungeons faster, which works fine, but it doesn't exclude the extremes, in fact of late it seems to be actively encouraging throwing a high geared DPS in with a low geared tank (Get it on my fury warrior, seen the same happen whilst healing on my priest or pally as well).

Give an example here: on AOE packs if the tank isn't so well geared, I'll hold off the WW and the cleave for some time, just use BT and herioc strike, but if after 10 or so seconds when just a WW goes off and I see the two off targets turn and look at me, then somethings wrong, and it isn't always the fact the tank is a 'bad', they just don't have the stats to actually generate the threat required.

To the OP: calling them noob tanks isn't going to get you any favours from anyone, it'll actively encourage 'anti-elitists'. Better wording would portray your point better without sounding abusive to the subject of your post. And it is a fair point, I just don't think you've said it very well.

Even if you've pugged your way to 6k gs with no guild, you should at least have a decent f-list. I do kind of agree with you though. When I log onto an undergeared tank of mine, I dread getting groups with the DPS who just need frost badges because it will be REALLY hard if not near impossible to hold aggro.

If it takes you more then 20 minutes to complete a heroic you need to get some epic gear.

I could understand the "I need to farm heroics to stay on the bleeding edge and get as many frosts as possible" idea, if it were a couple months ago.

ICC has been out for months. Anyone actually on that bleeding edge already has enough frosts to never have to set foot in a Wrath heroic ever again.

Kinda odd you say that. I made a new fresh tank alt on another server just for pve environment (currently living off pvp realms). I collected a few tank gear and they're around the avarage of ilvl 200 gear and went to do a heroic with geared players.

Of course, I would get spit upon the group for the gear i'm in. I wasn't happy with that so I went to tank the damn instance anyways. Strange thing is.. I held aggro JUST fine.

You're right though, it is not the tank's fault for "not having gear" but there are solutions to deal with that situation.

Tbh, if an dps with 6k gs is in the heroic.. I won't have problems with dps pulling mobs off me cuz the mob is dead in a few seconds.
