Add to that: Mirror Images not attacking another random target after you've killed yours; and Mirror Images starting to attack before your first spell hits the target - there's some wasted precious seconds right there.
Frost / Fire Ward being off the GCD and more use for Amplify / Dampen Magic.

Ah, our biggest threat in vanilla PvP wasn't warlocks, though. It was rogues who would stunlock our mega 3.5k healthpool down to 0 before we could blink (ba-dom-tch).
"Hey, who's supposed to cast Detect Magic on Shazz?" For some reason, I always remembered to do it...
Now, if only we had had spellsteal for MC.
