Yesss! I make pancakes/hotcakes for my family at least three mornings a week (usually complete with scrambled or poached eggs and sizzling bacon). XD

I love a good apple pie or an apple tart. Custard creme pies are amazing, too. Such a sweet crust that melts in your mouth.

But I am also a cake connoisseur. Triple layer dark chocolate fudge cake with chocolate cream between the layers and thick caramel layered milk chocolate icing to top it off. Mmmm.

Now how the heck am I supposed to choose between the two?!

Edit: We should have a sweets and confectionery showdown, where each week's winner moves into the next bracket.

Pie. Whereas cake is limited to celebrations mostly, a pie can be eaten on your average day, in form of, for example, cheese & ham, and ham and meat! I could go on, but I want to give the other members of these revered forums some air too.
