Maybe i need to play Fable or so. (Microsoft please release Fable II on pC please :P )
the only thing in WoW that can grow is your e-peen. good day.
meta old god of doom is real!
But what if you're RPing as a bodybuilding farmer being recruited by the militia and then advances as a true warrior?Originally Posted by Zeror

When you see lore-heroes in game (e.g. Jaina, or Tirion in ICC) that are much bigger than the other characters, you take it to mean that they are more experienced, boss characters, etc etc ( a good example of this is the second boss(es) of ToC5man, who are normal-sized NPCs you hand quests into outside of the dungeon)
I appreciate that massive size should be restricted to only the most notable characters, but even a slight difference in size between levels would be such a neat touch.
Rather than player characters being bigger than they currently are, I'd suggest level one characters being a bit smaller. Shouldn't be game breaking, and it really gives you something extra to strive for when non-tier items share the same few models, and within levelling sections (say 20-50 or 60-69/70-79) theres no massive "Oh NOW my char looks amazing!".
The OP is a bit immature, and I really dont think size difference should be linked to age per se, but I definitely think its worth considering, especially if its only a simple overall scaling issue, and it isn't game-breaking.
Not much work on Blizzard's part too (nudge nudge give us the dance studio!)
You're character is an adult even at level 1...

If we're going to pick an extreme when declaring the status of puberty on the Internetz, then I think it would be more accurate to say that puberty is all there is on the Internetz. (Sadly.)Originally Posted by Destil
Levels are more or less meaningless in lore. They do mean a bit, especially for characters, but not for NPCs.
Having your character age or grow slightly would be odd, as not all characters even start out young - my mage is old with grey hair and beard for example, should he get taller?
You can see old men in Northshire abbey that are level 3 and stuff, level 80 soldiers in Icecrown clearly aren't older than them, so I would have to say a idea that sounds sensible at first but wouldn't work.
actually i think an increase in player character size isn't such a terrible idea. certain npcs of known races are very, very large compared to what normal members of that race are. just look at tirion or varian or even ol Milhouse Manastorm from the arcatraz, he was taller than a dwarf despite being a gnome.
however, the reasoning we DON'T appear larger on the battlefield the way these important figures do is likely just that, because we aren't important figures.
Do your best
Expect the worst
Enjoy the mediocre
There you go, the answer is right there. At level 1 you should see your chars as if he's 20. He just finished all the basic growing up stuff as well as havign abit of education. But his real education starts now, at lvl 1.Originally Posted by Dalco

how about a different look at it.
Shadowbane tried it this way, as your base stats were raised, specifically str and sta, physically characters became taller(str) or wider(sta). this is probably more of the idea that the OP had when posting even if they didnt think of it in this manner.
its an interesting idea
Next on the docket:
Level 1 toons start rail-thin, almost sickly looking and by 80 are towers of perfection, chiseled from stone (not literally stone, but in terms of physical build).
Oh, and once you hit 10000 hours played, you instantly turn old with gray hair and all your spells and abilities have a chance to fail completely and if they do work, only do half damage, you know, since you are elderly and whatnot. Add new sound files of creepy old men and women too.
BTW, do not take anything pointed out above as a serious post.
Thanks.
