[Druid shapeshifting nerf] Implications on resto in PvP?

What are the implications that this change will have on resto druids in PvP? Are they finally going to be killable?
    For reference:
[blizzquote="Bornakk;http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=23425638763&sid=1][list][*]Druids: Using a shapeshifting spell now triggers a 1 second cooldown on all shapeshifting spells. To compensate, Tree of Life form can now cast Growl.[/list][/blizzquote"]
Yes, I know it's an april fools' joke. Please don't spoil it.

!st of april joke perhaps? Seems stupid to give tree growl lol, could only be useful to keep rogues in combat or something, besides removing powershapeshifting is a terrible nerf to not just resto druids but druids overall.

April 1st? Don't worry about trees growling at you, their bark is worse than their bite. Boomboom. I don't think this is going to make too much of a difference, depends if dropping form counts as a shape-shifting spell (unsure on druid mechanics hmm).

No it would be a horrible nerf that would completely destroy druids in arenas, sure it gets OP for rest by a tad (if youre fast it only wastes their mana) however this nerf for feral is a huge kick in the groin. (if it were to happen)

Except there's already a 1 second CD on shapeshifting, it's called the GCD.

Alright then, lets see you go in and out of form more than once a second. Please, I'd LOVE to see you try it.

ehm yeah i do that all the time, it looks like the gcd kicks in but u can just click it again while the "blacked out area" ticks and it will work

Shifting into form triggers a GCD, shifting back out doesn't. You CANNOT shift in and then out of form more than once on a GCD though.

blizzard are very partial towards druids. they'd never nerf them like this more than some slap on the wrist.

    Remember s5?

Remember TBC where feral was a joke?

Remember WoW where all through it boomkin was a joke? (And still is)

If you want blizz's pet class, it would be holy paladins.

koraa actually said something to the effect of "dont worry, the developers are very fond of druids since many play them", something like that, on test server forums a while back, responding to someone worried about some nerf or was it skins? i can't remember.

and no healer has been nearly as strong as restos throughout each phase of WoW. S3-4-5(?) were ridiculous, game breaking pvp stupid actually, all because of raid viability of hots.

most classes have never had all viable specs for pvp at any one time.

oh and pallys were the worst healer until Wotlk really. they had no instants or special abilities(other than bubble) to get casts off and were so prone to counterspell/lockout. barely anyone played pally healer more than rerolled resto druid or priest.

Re: [Druid shapeshifting nerf] Implications on resto in PvP?

    Ok.

If you're currently in tree form and hit the tree form button, you drop into caster form WITHOUT triggering any CD's. When you shapeshift INTO a form, it triggers the GCD.

Hence, if you're already in tree form, you can drop out of it and shift right back in extremely fast, and this makes people think they're doing something SUPER BADASS that they can nickname and act like they know a class secret on forums.

Try it with hunter aspects, same deal. Dropping out of an aspect doesn't incur any cd's, but going into one triggers the gcd, only diff being aspects share a GCD only with themselves, and don't limit any other abilities.
