Although this is obviously an April Fool's joke, I don't doubt that they do something along these lines. At least something that shows your average item level.
They obviously wouldn't phase based on that number, but they already calculate this internally, just not show it. Seems like they try to integrate very popular addons, and this one would be one of the easiest to integrate...whether it's beneficial or not.
