Seeking advice on improving my DPS

Hey guys im looking for some advice on increasing my DPS since its sadly terribly low compared to the other Rets in my guild and im wondering if you guys can help me possibly make it any higher.

Im asking this because, according to rawr I should be able to do 10k+ but I can managed to do only 9k on most fights I just don't know what im doing wrong.

My armory (please note I may be under hit capped but I do have Malevolent Girdle to be capped don't know why its not being shown on the armory).

Im using an addon called Serious Help In Timing to use my rotation which is, Judgement > DS > CS > HoW > Consecrate > Exorcism > Holy Wrath.

1st one is probably the best I have ever done.

looks like you're missing 4% phsyical damage buff from arms warr/combat rogue in that raid, also I didn't check but did your kitty keep faerie fire up? 10k+ on the festergut try which seems to be what rawr says you can do, and you were ahead of the other ret. try popping CS ahead of DS into your rotation on rawr and see if that makes a difference, there are a couple of buffs missing. did you double hastepot? wings with BL? strength food for the extra AP? MS makes a big difference, hows your connection?

Being 90 Hit Rating (2.72%) below the cap is certainly not helping your DPS at all. On a tank n' spank fight like Festergut, your Consecration uptime should be nearly 100%. Looking at the WMO report from your first link, you only had 164 Consecration ticks in 291 seconds of combat time. This number should be much higher. While Consecration isn't the highest damage ability we have, you are losing 945(average Consecration tick) x 127(# of seconds of Consecration not ticking) = 120,015 damage. That alone is an additional 412 DPS.

If your framerates are low or your latency is high, these can definitely contribute to lower DPS than expected. You are not utilizing your GCDs as effectively as you can be.

Umm, I just looked at the debuffs tab on WMO. You got hit my Maleable Goo three times. You spent 41 seconds of that fight with a 250% attack speed debuff. With the recent change to that fight, there is really no excuse for that. When Putricide throws the Goo from the window, a large green circle appears on the ground where the Goo will land. It's extremely easy to avoid now unless the Goo is going to hit right inside the graphic of Festergut's foot. This shouldn't be happening either because melee should be a max hit box range.

Are you adding the ICC zone buff when simulating him? By my sim of his toon, he's about 1100 DPS below expected. That sounds like the right amount of DPS he should be losing by the Goo that splattered on him.

We had an Arms warrior that fight no idea why it didn't show.

Faerie fire was up the entire fight

try popping CS ahead of DS into your rotation on rawr and see if that makes a difference

On rawr when I pop CS before DS my DPS shows going down

Didn't pop a haste potion, never thought about using it like that thanks for the idea! Same with the str food ill start using that instead of the feast.

MS makes a big difference, hows your connection?

My connection is around 200-300 MS that could also be why.

If you had read what I had said I was using Malevolent Girdle which has 60 hit so it puts me at 233.

That makes a lot more sense never thought of how important it would be on a fight like that.

Yeah 300 MS isn't really helping me, I checked out a video that was posted here a couple of months ago about GCD to keep spamming the next ability till its off CD and have been following it, don't know what else I can do about it.

We have our melee stack on each other and have our raid leader call out to move left or right and I think we screwed up on it once or twice. But ill be on the lookout for now on since he doesn't seem to call them all out.

durr never mind me, my brain was in european date format reading mode and I saw that as the 2nd of January and didn't even question how he was doing festergut heroic on that day. not enough sleep and too much wine

I'm having similar issues to you, rawr had me at 9.8k in the gear I was wearing at the start of the raid and I did 9.6k on festergut tonight with 10% buff. I'm at a loss to explain why, full raidbuffs, perfect rotation, ~150ms, 20fps.

I think you guys are forgetting that RAWR is a simulated result based on theory, perfect rotation etc.

Now with the 2-set T10 bonus there's a lot of RNG involved along with fast reactions. You wont be able to do the rawr numbers unless you have 0 MS and react instantly on DS procs, and we are only humans after all. Based on DS procs alone tonight my DPS was varying between 9k and 10k on BQL25 HC.

As for what others have said: goos are bad.
