These types of posts never do any good, but I'm going to do it anyways. Consider this my official "Done with the pally forums" post.

Synthaxx/Chronalis: Not that this one won't get the same treatment, but you have unjustifiably deleted three of my posts today. You have prematurely locked countless threads and you subject the pally forum community to your "bad days" far too often. I understand the we aren't allowed to say whatever we feel like on these forums, but that does mean you get to wield your moderator rights to cut out valid posts whenever you feel like it just because you are in a pissy mood.

Ronark, you should know as well as anyone that I have gone out of my way to defend you when critics attacked, but I can't do that anymore. In the past few weeks, I too have begun to question exactly what you know. While being totally polite about it, I have corrected you too many times recently on some very basic things. I say basic as it should apply to anyone who has played this class for any substantial period of time like we have.

Forums are designed for interaction. The paladin moderators (all of whom have been named more recently than I have been posting here) have been using their "authority" to stymie valid conversations rather than redirect the thread or promote a more positive environment.

These forums and the administration of them have become such a mockery that posters like Hollow_Sorrow can act like complete jackasses without fear. These same posters are empowered by the fact that they can incessantly flame someone, request a thread lock, and be awarded just that. Where is the moderation?? Do you find his semantics humorous?

I fully understand that a poster's "rank" means absolutely nothing on these forums, but considering the amount of time and information that I have contributed, I can't believe that you would start to play these games with me. So before I go out of my way to get permanently banned, I'll just walk away now.

Well voiced. Shame this problem isn't strictly limited to the paladin forums; some of the new mods are, well, pretty terrible at moderating.

Only things that should be locked and/or deleted should be violations of the terms of use. Forums are a place to ask questions, express opinions, and as stated, just have social interaction in general. There doesn't need to be opinionated deletion of threads.

I agree with some of the things said, though I disagree on the problems with the mods (But understand where you are coming from. getting my post deleted/locked is lame feeling).


I have to ask though, did you take the time to see if you could talk to an Admin about it at all?

I always think my posts are being deleted because either MMO is borkd or my work computer is borkd. Clicking links doesn't refresh threads. I have to click them, then manually hit refresh to make anything recent appear.

I don't frequent the Pally Forums but I've seen it quite a bit on other forums, I think when people are put in a position of power they tend to feel like they can use it willnilly without regard to actual forum policies and so forth. I do hope you reconsider and stay, if you were to abandon those who actually count on you in the face of people who are just too immature to handle the responsibility of moderating a forum, then that's just a shame.

I really can't say much about what you wrote seeing as i was rather inactive the past couple weeks.

Still, sad to see you go. You were always one of the Paladins who knew what they were doing. We are going to miss you.

It'll be interesting to see how the mods treat this post. Dunno whether to expect a lock, a deletion, a rebuttal or nothing at all.

Posts like this create a difficult situation - if they lock it, they vindicate the OP's points without meaning to, and grant weight to his argument. If they delete it, much the same effect, although a much slimmer audience, provided the OP doesnt follow up.

If they plan to rebutt, it needs to be with an action point or a farewell statement - there is no way they can put in an even remotely "well, you suck too:" comment without opening up a whole can of worms, which is wha tthe post was designed to do (not intentionally, but by the way it was worded and the audience it was set before, that is the effect it will have).

Agree with you 100% in all honesty I've slowly begun hating how MMO-Champion is turning out; unfortunately there isn't much competetion. Valid posts and questions gets deleted or moved for some sort of minor flaw and nearly all mod's seem to all have taken it upon theirselves to play the 'bad cop' while the 'good cop' is nowhere to be seen.

I have been seeing a lot of hate for the new moderators as of recant and i have to say that i dont disagree with it, there going on too many power trips and needlesly editing other peoples posts etc

If they do that, they will lose - it simply won't be effective - the stage is set for them to do something like that, and the setting is such that they cannot win - the deck is stacked against them here. By attempting an explanation they simply give little bits of information for the community at large to latch onto and argue/flame about. As I stated earlier - opening up a can of worms.

Even if they are justified, they cannot win in this forum (not physical web-forum, but this audience & medium).

We shall see.

I do not frequent the pally forums so I cannot comment on the admin situation, although I've seen some iffy stuff afoot in other ones.

I do know that Ronark disappointed me the other day by giving out wrong information in a thread that I was reading, and I knew the answer to it and I only have a 50 pally

That certainly was not my intent. Having brought this up in PM's prior to this post, this is the answer to any future "Where did Prentice go?" posts. Had I intentionally desired to open that can, I would have done so in a different manner.

I don't wanna sound like a good old days homer, but the level of conversation has dropped off significantly on these forums. Threads used to go on and on with meaningful conversation as experienced posters would continue to fuel them with new ideas. I don't know if the absence of those posters is the fault of MMO-C or because we are late in the expansion and people are taking a break til Cataclysm. It's kinda sad to think that nowadays I log on to take a glance at the Rate the Ret thread because that is the only meaningful or helpful conversation taking place on these forums now for someone that plays my spec.
