Shadowmourne is an "evil" weapon, although nowhere as strong as frostmourne

Death knights can use it because of their obvious lack of a soul, and their power to command the powers of the unholy :|

its useable by paladins because of their faith and power in the light which prevents them from falling victim to the weapon's power

warriors presumably has such a strong will that their capable of wielding it

About the "ow noes, paladins can't suck souls out of undeads, cos that's evil" sentiment, a paladin uses those souls to finally avenge the dude that was responsible for those souls being undead.
I like to think of it more as a kind of redemption for those lost souls. And who doesn't want retribution on the being that made it so you couldn't rest even when you died? (That's more like the mission statement of the Ebon Blade anyway).

Yes, lore-wise it's a Death Knight weapon, most likely handed to the top commander of the Knight of the Ebon Blade, assuming Morgraine doesn't take it. However, I can't see why this is an issue on any other realms than roleplaying realms. On a PvP and PvE realm, I doubt even 1% are actually playing their character, rather than just smashing stuff where ever they go.

It's a powerful axe that can harvest souls with runes of deathly power on it. Yeah, it's a runeblade.

Just 'cause the Warriors and Paladins can't share teatime with it doesn't mean that they can't wreak havoc with an immensely powerful weapon.
