    nope that doesnt work only the slow effect from earthbind works, tho you can root the spirits in the next phase as they fly down (timing on the range of them vs dropping totem as they are too high to start)
    Sometimes you just have to stop healing some people to prove a point, if they don't listen, it's really their own fault :P

    in normal mode there is quite an easy tactics for this

    just put every one 15 yards apart!
    the moment the first spirit comes down everyone has to stand in place.
    if its done right, and the poeple getting defile in that phase dont run between properly positioned players. the ghosts AE damage can be ignored because it does not hit anybody else.

    in order to keep that 15 yards distance the whole platform has to be used . consequently not everybody will ( with the lich king in the middle ) be able to do damage in that phase.but thats ok.
    This will allow you to heal away the spirits in normal mode when they impact. ( use raid damage reducing abilities and groupheals)
    do not do any damage on them!

    its more important to not kill anybody else with the spirits then doing damage.
    this phase is over soon.... especially if you saved heroism for phase 4 ( we usually activate it when the last spirit of phase 3 is focused.

    much more important is that you keep the raidmember beeing pulled to the frostmourne room alive while flying to the lich king. sorry i cant remember who this ability was called.

    if this person dies the lich king gains a buff which almost every time will kill your MTs.
    only if you have quick reacting tank pressing shieldwall etc etc and healers giving guardian angels, instants etc
    and a second mt spotting the lich king from range to make him walk and not hit anybode you may survive

    no thanks for your extremely unqualified and superfluous comment. btw ulduar was a great instance! why in the hell do people like you choose to response to stuff they have really no clue of?! ADS?

    @OP:
    the timing and positioning of the raid, as well as good timed stuns are crucial. slow should be on all valkyrs all the time, too. as the valkyrs always take the shortest path to the outer rim of the circle, it's important that the raid positions in a way that all valkyrs fly in the same direction. then you can easily slow/stun/nuke them all down. good luck! ;-)

    U can actually check the damage done and damage time to valks with WOL il guide u in steps.

    1) Open world of logs
    2) Go to the fight u want to see
    3) Go to the tab damage done
    4) Then go to creatures and select Val'kyr Shadowgaurd
    5) U get a new screen at first but select Damage by actor
    6) Here u should be able to see what u want and compare class by class and mayby other guilds that downed it yet

    If everyone has eyes they will see them spawning. Boss mods tell you this also. If you, as you say keep ppl stacked then optimal cleaves will be a Must. Have a DK spec into Desecrate for an AoE stun, infact best 2 incase 1 is stunned. A prot warrior SHOULD be able to shockwave, the fight still requires a little bit of orginisation.
    Gear Score is a good representation of skill, enchants, and gems...NOH! WAI-....

    What my guild does is that all ranged stack up on the circle on the floor around 5 o'clock with the LK near the center but close to us and the melee right behind him. The idea behind that is that all Valks will fly towards the same direction making it easier for ranged or melee to switch to another Valk when theirs dies.

    We have also marks assigned to the Valks and people are assigned to each Valkyr, usually 2 stunners and 3 dps. For example one group has a rogue and a pala, while another a DK and a pala.

    This way works great for us although we worked only like 6 hours on him so far and a Defile is more likely to wipe us than someone getting carried off.

    These stun recommendations are not much better. You always want to start with 6 second stuns if at all possible and then go down do your AoE stuns. Slows are just as important as well as having redundancy built in for both stuns and slows as you never no who the val'kyrs will pick up.

    We assign 5 dps to each valk with at least 2 snares and 2 single target stuns in each group. we have 2 arcane mages who are free to dps whichever valky'r they view as most likely to reach the edge. we use arcane mages because they can get extremely high burst when needed and have virtually no penalty for target switching.
