Hunters could fd and then switch trinkets when you still could leave combat during a boss encounter. Esp. usefull for engineers so they could put on http://www.wowwiki.com/Goblin_Jumper_Cables (when it was a trinket) and battlerezz during encounters. But this was fixed way back in vanilla when the entire instance is infight during a boss fight.

You're thinking of Weapons/relics that can be switched in combat.

Hunters could fd and then switch trinkets when you still could leave combat during a boss encounter. Esp. usefull for engineers so they could put on http://www.wowwiki.com/Goblin_Jumper_Cables (when it was a trinket) and battlerezz during encounters. But this was fixed way back in vanilla when the entire instance is infight during a boss fight.

Actually it was fixed mid TK/SSC before BT was released. Not during vanilla. They claimed hunters going out of combat to swap gear and drink in boss fights was a "bug" and they "fixed" it after 2 years.

why would you want to? both are shitty trinkets at this stage in the game for any spec mage, and it's a pointless exercise in futility (redundant i know, it's the point).

Yeh the above posters are unaware of this mechanic because the mechanic doesn't exist. If you use the trinket then unequip it, you loose the buff too. You shouldn't make up stuff to make yourself look cool. I suggest you try it yourself.

FYI this applies to weapons with "Use:" effect too.

lolol. Not only do you lose the buff, your new trinket's ICD is activated. Blizzard has brains and stuff.
