Thats similar to what happens on the test realms. Your character name looks like that when you transfer a premade to your chosen test realm, but you gain the opportunity to change it before you log in.

Assuming that what we're seeing is not a test realm, it's probally a result of either a GM changing that Paladin's name and then the individual has left their name as it is somehow, or they name changed and an error occured during that process.

I once saw a guy with a space in his name. Same bug but yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. If you tried whispering him you'd just whisper to the first part of his name because you had to hit space, lol.
