    Experience enchants.

Who doesnt love the heirlooms, awesome weapons, the best armor you can get till very late in the leveling process, adapts when you level, and a 20% experience bonus too. Sounds pretty nifty to me.

    However...

After leveling a warrior till 80, I was glad that I didn't have to look at the Valor stuff anymore, 80 levels of the same gear gets old really fast.
But a couple of weeks later I wanted to level a paladin, and you guessed it, the best gear to use...is the Valor looking heirloom stuff.
Sigh, I loved the valor looks, and most of the heirlooms but after a while it just started to look dull and boring.

There are some very nice designs in both vanilla and TBC (the recolors were pretty good) and even the spikes in wotlk look ok-isch.

So I thought, why not implement experience enchants on shoulders and chest? Like the shoulder enchants from the sons of hodir. They should cost about I dunno 5 Triumphs.

That way, you can still switch around gear but not lose the exp bonus that everyone likes.

It would not only be benifitial for looks, but also specialised stats, like a decent gear for holy palas, or caster dps or tanking gear (polished valor is not that great for level 70+ tanking).

    What do you think?

Hmm... bow with 1 dps vs. bow with 5 dps... quite the tough decision to make.

Heirlooms are alright as is. Only better option, imo, would be to allow players to modify the looks of their items, e.g. to make T9 look like T2 or so.

So whenever I upgrade my item, I have to go buy another enchant? F that.

And I tanked stuff with my valor shoulders at 70+. It really doesn't make a difference, you can tank it all as ret, or any DK spec in frost or as a prot war i guess. Your shoulders aren't going to make or break the run.

IMO, there should be a paint system for gear, to get nifty colors on your stuff...

Also, I think set items should get better looking as you complete the set...IE
Say you get shoulders, they look alright, blades sticking out, then you get gloves, and there's chains going from the shoulders to the gloves, then you get the chest and the blades fan out and get bigger, then you get helm and it causes an aura effect between the helm and shoulders, and because you have the 4 set, extra chains dangle from the back of the helm and shoulders and they writhe around each other like snakes...

With a paint system, the looks would be somewhat customizable... I don't think xp enchants would be a good idea as they would make new players have to invest in things they probably cannot afford, and do it several times during the leveling proces, making it a very expensive endeavor.
Quite often, the difference between an idiot and a genius is simply a matter of success rate.

    Sigh

This would be an idea to exist besides the heirlooms we allready have.
And if you upgrade a headpiece or a shoulderpiece, you don't buy a new enchant from the Sons or major factions?

    instead of this.

geif BoA Hats, and necks, and bracers, and belts, and pants, and boots, and rings(well ok there is one of those), and shields. basically i want to be able to equip a BoA in every flipping slot on my toon. that way they never have to worry about gear until max level. yeah i'll be OP at low level, but shit. it's low level, i already leveled damnit, now i just want alts.
