Heads up on a new scam

    Hello internet,

while the trickery is old the website and evil people behind the screens are new. They also are pretty clever and got past the Gmail spam and encoded a link.

I was checking my e-mail just before i headed off to bed when I found an interesting e-mail. FROM BLIZZARD (apparently)

and some how my account payments had been changed ZOMG

Of course I haven't altered my payment method in 4 years so how can this be??

"me thinks i didn't do that".... "thankfully they have provided a usefull link to help me sort this matter out"

    OMG NOO!!!!! CTRL+Z!!!!

If you are not using firefox or w/e dected the evils on the internet be careful and update your spyware / malware

Be wary of this this email got past the google spam filter which is normally pretty good.

Anyone who falls for such a scam deserves to lose their account so that we can have less dumb people playing the game.

Always go to the official Blizzard or Battle.net sites manually, don't ever follow a link in an email, no matter how official it looks. You can log on and confirm details of your account once you've manually navigated to the page.

Re: Heads up on a new scam

I ended up getting an email like that saying my payment changes have apparently been changed.

However I did the usual thing and manually put in battle.net in the address bar and check it properly instead of following any links given to me. I got on and noticed everything was the same, so I simply reported it as malicious and moved on.

Though what gets me is... How would changing someones subscription type be a bad thing? All that would do is cause someone else to be paying for your account instead of yourself, which would technically mean your playing for free.

    You're absolutely right.

Absolutely NO ONE got hacked before Wrath came out.

When in doubt, simply ask yourself: "What would Garrosh do?"

For the first 15 minutes you are staring at a black screen, the next 30 minutes you are watching monkeys throw poo at each other. That's 45 minutes of complete nonsense.
