Once Bitten, Twice Shy - how our entire raid got it - you can too!

Here's what happened

So, we're running through the bosses to clear so we can get LK down (actually did it too - day after this little event) and come across Bloodqueen. We set up our usual bite order, no biggie, we pull and we're off to the races.

So we're about a minute and half into the fight, our RL is calling normal stuff, and all of a sudden over vent we hear "is anyone bitten yet?" - LOL. The bite bugged out - or something (we figured it out later) - with the mage that got the first one (it was the iceblock that did it) and at the point where 4 of us should have had the bite, no one did.

So a couple of us check the enrage timer vs BQL health, and we figured it might actually work. So we down her with no bites, and the entire raid gets Once Bitten. She was about 1.5 seconds into her enrage when she died.

We figure it should be an achievement or something.

(oh, I also f***ed-up heroism, so we lost about half of it to her floating phase)


Here's how to reproduce it

Make sure the first person who gets bit (and if you don't know how to guarantee who gets it first, you are not ready for this ) can do some form of purge or suicide. For us, while we discovered it by accident, we figured out it was the mage iceblock that caused the anomoly, and we can repeat it now (not that we need to - lol).

Bubble or iceblock doesn't remove the mark, dying does, but she'll just bite someone else. Your fight bugged out, this is no way to do it.

It doesn't remove it, but is probably unable to be put on for the first application, as the mechanic only covers "removal of buff" not "this target is immune to buff, don't apply"

You can be bitten through iceblock and bubble. It doesn't work.

In fact, we used to encourage it when we were biting the players, because they don't take damage and it still gets applied.

BQL bites exactly one person during the encounter; all other bites during the course of the fight are performed by players. If that first person dies before biting anyone, nobody else gets bitten during the course of the fight.

Edit: this is based on experience from when we were learning the fight, where on several tries we had the first bite recipient die near-instantly, continued the fight for quite some time before we realized it, and never saw her bite again. I'm not positive that it's always the case or if it's been changed since then.

Edit 2: Support from this thread on the wow forums. Can't find anything about her putting out another bite.

I didn't think it would be funny, since you asked, I reposted it because a Forum Administrator asked me to do so after locking the first one.

She doesn't bite someone else - you really ought to learn the encounter fully before critiqueing (sp?) someone's post about a complicated fight.

(oh, and before you ask - you could have asked me questions in this thread or a PM before posting - would have been a classy way of doing things)
