Goblins : The Americans of WoW ?

A lot of races in WoW are related to existing cultures : Tauren to Native Americans, Centaurs to Mongols, Dwarves to Celtic peoples (Irish, welsh, scots), etc. Could we consider the Goblins as the Americans of Warcraft ? Capitalism, the highway in Azshara and Kezan, the sprawling metropolis in Kezan, the mount Rushmore-type scuplture in Azshara, the casino and golf course, their taste for motors, explosives, and Vegas-style tackyness... Looks pretty much American to me.

They're just goblins. Obviously Blizzard takes elements from the real world and twists them to their own whim for WoW, so some things will of course end up in there that have real roots in life. Mt. Rushmoore, the Autobahn style track.. Housing........ :-\

Well, I think the Goblins really are a mix, they also have Italian maffia tendencies as well as being avid bankers, something which Jewish people are known for(aswell as their big noses).

Goblins are meant to be "excessively, ludicrously, fun". They're fun to the point that they're a physical danger to everyone around them. Your OP is a broad general statement that can fit a majority of ill-represented countries/cities.

Also, Vegas is NOT tacky.

I didn't say it was a reflection on ethnicity. Just that they had an inspiration somewhere. I mean, Tauren are not exactly Native Americans and Centaurs are not Mongols. Bu Blizzard sure took some elements of these cultures, even stereotypical elements, to make the races of Azeroth. So, yeah, Goblins seem really American-like to me.
