WG in Cataclysm

I believe the weekly quest honor is based on HKs, so it's probably worth it to do it once a week.

I'll still do it. As long as there is a reward for doing it. I'm not sure if Halaa ever had a reward when it was first implemented. I only started playing halfwayish through BC (lolnoob). So meh.

Not at all, cause you will gaion more honor from kills and winning, look back at when we where still in TBC. We would get 900-1200 honor per BG?
Today we get 1-2.5k per BG, so I doubt WG will be used.

Tol Barad will have its own daily/weekly quests and a VoA type instance with level 85 gear. I doubt they will keep WG relevant for level 85s, though might be fun for people while leveling 75-78 or WotLK capped accnts.

It will be the place to go to level your alt's professions to 450 with the amounts of herbs and veins in the area.

They'll instance it and release it as a content patch later on as the "new" battleground!!!

"The Horde won 99% of the wg-battles during the wotlk expansion on your server, so it'll stay Horde."

It will still be used to level your alt's professions - herbalism and mining at least - to 450.
Others will probably gather materials for level 78-80 alts.

Another reason could be the "Wintergrasp Commendation", because they are bound to your account.

So probably a new Halaa, probably not. Time will show.

With the new points system coming into pvp and pve, then there is not certainty that "honor kills", or honor gain in general will even exist in the same form.
Wintergrasp is likely to become the new halaa, and I can seriously see the wintergrasp commendations getting some nerf or at least non-conversion to the new system.
I feel it is likely that existing emblems/honor etc will not be carried over to the new system, so everyone starts with a blank slate, not those with stockpiles immediately going in with a gear advantage.
The conversion of your bg marks into honor via to tokens was the first sign that blizzard do not intend to support stockpiling, with them being limited to 10 at a time, and with the limited duration of mails in your box to hold excess bg marks, then a stockpile would only be realistic to keep for so long.
The system in cataclysm and the limits to the amount being earned per week is a further indication of that.
