Poll:Should Shamans Get Perma-Wolves And Mobile Totems?

Shaman Totems are currently a slight nuisance as you have to continuously recast them.
Would it be better if our totems had little legs or hovered above the ground following us?

We could also put them on stay(Like Pets) meaning they don't follow....This would be good for PvE and PvP.

Perma-Wolves would add a good amount of DPS to a specc falling behind other hybrids e.g. Moonkin, Fury, Shadow, DKs.
Of course to make this viable their damage would be lowered to like 20% but numbers could be better balanced.

well if you would get a glyph for perma wolves then you would have to nerf then .. either only 1 wolf and/or lose the healing form the wolves

and about the totems if the are none agro-able then it might be a good idea because now a totem is able to pull a boss and if you have an area of the 4 totems to look out for then you might get some problems, like pulling extra pakcs and stuff like that ..

On a PvE scale I wouldnt mind both, on a PvP scale, sorry but giving perma wolves and mobile totems would be too much.

I'll admit Wolves are not broken but the added dps is very much needed, the healing might have to be removed.(Kept with PvP talent?)

Totems on the other hand are an outdated mechanic which needs an overhaul...Why on Earth can we not take our buffs with us?? ???

Instead have it as a form the shaman turns into themselves as they embrace the shamanistic energies for a short period of time.

Mobile totems would have to be a no-no due to PvP. Carrying a Magma totem on your back would be like a warlock in demon form with immolation aura up constantly.
However, the ability to throw your totems to a select area would be good.

I have played all three specs on my shaman progressing through the whole of ICC up to 9/12 25manhc.
Enhancement mechanics for Wolves, totems, and their mana cost are absolutly fine.

What they need to change is how the stats on items benifit shamans.
Right now, you pretty much get stuck at the 5-8k DPS mark on both Elemental and Enhancement until you hit a certain amount of gear when all of a sudden it shoots up by 3-4k. The gear doesnt scale well at all.
Elemental could also have a more entertaining rotation than just spamming Lightning Bolts over and over while waiting on Lava Burst CD's and keeping the FS dot up.

The only thing I would change with enhancement is that Spirit Wolves was a form rather than summoned pets. Its always more fun to do the damage yourself in a new form than watch 2 pets you just summoned do it for you.

Hint, totems being stuck in the ground is more than just a gameplay mechanic. Shamans draw power from the earth so it makes sense that totems are stuck there. You might get a call totem move but not mobile ones.

If you make a cool pet permanent it loses its appeal. I personally like having them out part of the time because it makes me miss them when they're not out, thus making them valuable. Same goes for totems. If you just make them buffs with a floating graphic they're no better than everyone else's buffs. I agree they need a range buff and some other things but people need to stop the totem QQ- people compare us to DKs saying the bring HoW but everyone forgets that our totems are STRONGER if we talent them. DK bringing Imp Icy Talons? big whoop, I drop a different air totem (or none at all and save some mana). Yes Blizz may be homogenizing some buffs, but they're also going to reduce the hybrid tax for every time another class gets our buffs

But anyway just going with the op question about moving totems

1 way you might be able to do it is make them smaller and have them floating around you head, going in circles or whatever

I also think that IF that would happen it would take a high lvl sham to get it like that, something like: The more you grow as a shaman(lvl up) the more you are in touch with earth and therefor no longer require the need for earth-bound totems, thus alowing you to create ethereal totems that follow you where ever you go

It is just a rough idea and maybe floating totems around you head is distracting or whatever but i think if you want to go with moving totems this is the direction you want to go with

The day they take away totems (or make them fly, walk, or whatever) is probably the day I stop playing a shaman.

I like the idea blizzard already came up with, of throwing a totem somewhere, instead of having to drop it at your feet, though.
