Azuremyst Isle, Eversong Woods and Northrend: Beyond Deathwing?

Can someone explain why Deathwing's emersion isn't affecting Azuremyst, Eversong and Northrend?

These are clearly located on Azeroth.

I understand that dev teams can't change Northrend because it's a relatively new area, but from a lore perspective, it just doesn't add up. If Deathwing can sunder the planet on two continents separated by miles and miles of ocean, why isn't this affecting Northrend as well?

When you are in northerend its like the time before we killed the LK, aka its 2 years BEFORE the cataclysm.
    or smth.
The other places are protected by a loading screen, and deathwings computer cant handle them :c

Cause Northrend doesn't need to be changed, people don't want to go BACK to Northrend...
    I don't :|

Blizzard is just trying to get reason for revamping the old world... Nothing work with the lore, nothing!!

They are removing big mountain, flooding some HIGH level area while some lower level area arent flooded.

Whats the reason for thoses new buildings in Brill?

I cant wait to see how the flying mounts will work too, do we gonna hit a invisible wall at the north of epl and south of ghostland?

Well I'm sure Eyjafjallajoekull will erupt on Northrend preventing anyone from flying in Azeroth untill they have learned Volcanic Ash Flying.

I just think there should be some type of quest where your character gets caught in a time lapse or is sent back to aid in the quelling of the Burning Legion then help in the defeat of Arthas before they are sent back to kill Deathwing.

It's a simple fix that could save my head from exploding and newbies from going "WTF?"

Yep, all elements of WotLK are a seperate part of the WoW-timeline.

At the moment: WoW Classic -> BC -> WotLK
After this expansion: BC -> Wotlk -> Cataclysm

Blizz even seems to "retcon" the starter-quests (see Tauren starting-area) of our pre-Cat characters.

I don't really care if Northrend is changed, but Azuremyst, Bloodmyst, Eversong and Ghostalnds should be, they are just as much a part of of the two old continents as let's say Barrens and Elwynn. Same goes for the Isle of Quel'Danas btw

I think that's just that they're physically located in the outland map and they don't want cataclysm to also replace sections of terrain from another expansion pack.

BE/Draenei starting zones are working. There's no "need" to touch them and change them. All they need to do is to tweak quest rewards and that can be done by one guy in couple of hours. Of course they could cause haveoc and stuff in these places but it would just mean 4 extra zones to work on. I don't at least see the point. It isn't Deathwing personally who caused destruction all over the place. He just emerged from Deephome to Azeroth and this led to multiple natural disasters like earthquakes, floods etc and also brought Elemental Planes to Azeroth. And when those came they casued smaller disasters all over the world too. Lorewise just think draenei and BE zones weren't located in danger zone. Same goes to Northrend. You are allowed to use your own imagination to fill the gaps Blizzard might leave in the lore.

No I didn't. Vanilla to WotLK is in chronological order. Vanilla is gone. Cataclysm to TBC to WotLK is not in chronological order. It made sense before. Now it doesn't.

Again, this isn't a question about developers being lazy.

This is a question of lore consistency and it still doesn't make sense to have to level through Cataclysm - go to Outland - go to Northrend - back to Cataclysm.

I thought they were updating Azuremyst and Eversong too? Last I heard they were, but could have just been rumors.

It is something that our human minds are incapable of grasping and only the great mind of Metzen can conceive.
