Water Pets

Right now, their plan is to basically take the CD off of "Call Stabled Pet", which will be nice to be able to swap in utility pets for fights that warrant their use over pure dps pets. I don't think this change has anything to do with being able to use water pets in any way, but I do think we may still be able to tame them given just how much of the xpac will be underwater. If so, then I have dibs on Shamu, Jaws and Sushi as pet names XD

Lol, i was thinking the same thing today (in reference to the pokeballs). Being able to choose the pet dependant on the fight (i.e being able to switch freely out of combat) will be really cool

As much as I love aquatic animals, I just wouldn't really dig the Pokémon style of having them just kinda float above the ground/fly out of water as if they were in it. Just isn't WoW's style.

I think it would be cool, but won't ever happen. There would be too many restrictions and people would want to use their water pet on land.

Actually I don't see any reason they can't implement this in the expansion. With the new call stabled pet mechanic you could very easily keep a water pet with you for when we're in the abyssal maw or any of the other new aquatic zones (vashjir).

They COULD do it, doesn't mean they will though. As far as restrictions, that's easy. Just make the pet auto-dismiss and be unsumonable if you're not underwater. They do it when we mount, and they do it with exotic pets if you're dual specced. This is easy.

And no, if I had a pet shark I wouldn't want to use it on land, because that's retarded.
