The economy will make a full come back due to a combination of lazy people, living off unemployment playing WoW & eating Hot Pockets, finally getting jobs again + the porn industry increasing monthly subscriptions as a result of people having the extra $15 a month for it.

Mountain Dew + Hot Pockets would have to merge with other companies to prevent bankruptcy. Technology will begin to exponentially increase at an even faster rate than present as a result of a booming porn industry demanding 3D televisions & cable service. This will eventually lead to the creation of the voice controlled contact lens PC with Cable / 4G / Bluetooth / Night Vision capability.

I'd imagine they'd disperse into new MMOs or quit.

Imagine the MMO market is like a pool of water and MMOs are like sponges. WoW is such an absorbant sponge that it sucks up almost all of the water, while other sponges are left dry or only soggy. Drain the big sponge, the rest of the water goes back into the pool (WoW gone). Some of the water will still cling to the sponge and be removed from the pool until it is replaced (Quitting all together). Now the rest of the sponges will be able to soak up more water and the next largest sponge(s) will take the majority (Guild Wars 2/Old Republic! ).

I am aware people can play more than 1 MMO and that is where my analogy ceases to make sense. Let's assume each water droplet accounts for a subscription, rather than a person. That way the extra water/sub can be added and taken out of the pool freely.

I live in Rhode Island. RI has a population of ~1,000,000 people. 12 million people would not fit comfortably on an island the size of RI.
