I definitely enjoyed the Ulduar style of having to push into a Hardmode rather than just flipping a switch. Much more interesting.

hard modes should be a tad more than just a buffed copy of the boss. i like where they were going with ulduar with different towers being up gave the first boss new abilities. stuff like that.

Yes. ToC was just plain bad, but still ICC hardmodes - despite the copy/paste - serve as content fillers. Not that terrible like ToC ones, actually you can have fun on ICC 25 hm's.

It's not that Hardmodes are annoying. It's that for the whole of WotLK you where running one instance, several times a week. At start you where running Naxx on both 10 and 25 man. Then Ulduar, first 10 and 25 man then hardmodes who where fine tbh because they where very different then the original fight. The ToC whihc was really really grindy because you ended up running 10 / 25 normal with several chars, and 10/25 h with several chars. Also the hardmodes where very boring.

Now in ICC its abit of the same as at Ulduar, exept that the hardmodes are seperated from the normal version (so you run ICC more then Ulduar) and a bit more boring then the Ulduar hardmodes, imo.

On a related note, I liked the activation of hardmodes in early Wrath (including Ulduar) instead of a Heroic Mode option on your character tab. Not killing the minibosses in OS, pressing the button in Mim's room, not killing the towers for FL, etc. was a lot more fun and made the encounters feel a little more immersive.

Cause ulduar hard modes where so hard right???? the only 2 fights in ulduar that where decent was mim and yogg, everything else was come get ur achiv.
So lets see uldar hard modes 2. icc hard modes 2.

That said, no, I think hard modes are amazingly fun.
