    about the ruby sanctum trinket

topic says it http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...item_54572.jpg - it has 10 haste more than DFO (to which I am comparing it because it seems easiest), but does anyone else here think that the ICD on the proc better be quite low in order to still be able to compete with DFO?

it would be a low ICD with a proc like that i think.. either way the haste is nice.. and will be a top 5 trinket with ease

    Looks like swings and roundabouts.

Lower overall SP from proc Vs. higher SP from stacking buff.

Think Muradin's Spyglass Vs. Phylactery of the Nameless Lich.

With that trinket plus DFO, you could easily hit the 42% (plus 5% from Wrath of Air + 3% from Imp Moonkin) haste cap AND swap haste gems with crit gems.

I dunno, I'm a complete whore for haste. This could open up a lot of yummy opportunities to work up with my gear.

im haste whoreing aswell, do i do not have DFO norm or hc yet, im saving all my "epgp" for the hc one, dropped once so far.

i think id get DFO + this Twillight scale thingy, i havent gotten muradins spyglass either yet (im real unlucky with trinkets...)

I could go ahead and guess that the 284 version of this trinket will have about 180 haste.
    Dfo hc is 170 haste.
350 haste from this trinket combo.
Considering about 900 haste from gear without gems in ICC/ICC Hc mix
I would regem full spell power with the 350 haste that these baby will give.
(I don't believe in having over 1200 haste to be honest).

1312 is the cap with a Moonkin and a Shaman in a raid. =P

However haste is not the same as ArP.
The difference between 1200 and 1312 is actually slim over the gain in spell power.
    Think opportunity cost.

This trinket will no doubt be caster's version of Greatness/Death's Verdict.

35% proc chance, 45 sec ICD for about a 33% uptime making the sp average out to 254 vs DFOs average 242 (somewhere close to that).

So yeah it'll be better, and it's all at once which is nice.

yay, now my poor luck for trinket drops will move to a 2nd raid. woot woot. wont be able to win DFO or shard >.<

Several notes, Boomkins and ret pallies both affect casting speed, don't be judgemental.

Second note, 271 scale=163 haste, 277 DF)=170 haste, assuming the heroic version is 284 (a 7 GS increase) it will give the same +7 haste, ending at 177 haste, meaning, if you have both, it would only give 347, Boomkins only need 400sumthing haste to be soft capped, and only one spell gets a benefit after that.

Warlocks will see a insane DPS increase for having both, considering they have no legit haste cap.

Mages don't need this much haste assuming they've been gearing properly.

Just to say what's been said, if you get both of these, gem straight spellpower please

i have to ask, what haste cap. i play a demo lock and there is no haste cap till my corruption is a direct damage spell. i have 1413 haste with spell stone on, and would still grab this trinket. what exactly would 1269 haste cap?

GCD hard cap. It makes all your 1.5s casts (incl instants) have a minimum time of 1.0s. They do not get any better. That being said, Soul Fire and Shadow Bolt are your primary damage dealers and they don't cap for a bit past that number.

Basically, under this number Haste will have a 1.X scale factor for you. Over this number it will have 1.Y scale factor, where 1.X > 1.Y. However, it doesn't decrease so much as to make crit more valuable, for example.

Edit: This applies to Demo and Affliction, but not Destruction. See post below this one for Destro.

This. I am at 1174 haste currently. The 25 man normal trinket would put me at 1337.

By this I could remove the 6 SP/Haste gems and go full SP. 1267 resulting haste will put me at the cap and allow for the drop of heroic spyglass from my gear set.

The result would put me at the haste cap and net another 30+ SP (once you factor in the loss of the socket bonuses I am getting currently) with a higher average spellpower due to the proc.

All in all, it will be an increase int eh range of 50-60 SP while bumping me up to the haste cap.

    Upgrade for sure.

Can't wait to see what elitist jerks determines I think it won't replace H DFO but the Heroic version might just replace phylactery heroic...

Re: about the ruby sanctum trinket

Don't need EJ to determine anything, heroic DFO and heroic CTS will sit together as BiS for (as far as I can see) every caster. Interestingly enough, it looks like the regular CTS will beat out heroic Phylactery for many, if not all, casters.

Re: about the ruby sanctum trinket

At very high gear levels, Stat balance for Destruction changes, as CB and Conflag CDs are not effected by Haste at all, and Backdraft brings spells so far below the GCD that the haste wasted there is no longer sufficiently offset by the reduction in cast time on your un-backdrafted spells. The result in short is that Crit actually becomes more valuable. Where that point is will depend entirely on the rest of your gear (Spellpower, Spirit, and so on), and fight mechanics often have a say as well such is the closeness of the stat value at this point.

meaning if u have so much haste that your spell casting times goes under global cooldowns you end up loosiing 0.X seconds per cast resulting in a dps loss over long fights. espesially since you should gem for crit/sp once you have 1-1.5second cast time on your regular dps rotation fully raidbuffed.
