What would be the best 10man raid setup and why?
What would be the best 10man raid setup and why?
Most fights grant preference of 3 ranged over 3 melee.
My personal setup, which is 11/12 10 man Hard mode was build around buff maximization.
Forst/Blood DK tank
Prot Pally/Warrior
Destro lock
Moonkin
Ele Shammy
Rogue
Blood/Frost DK
Holy Pally
Disc Priest (that goes shadow)
Resto Druid
This space for rent.
Tanks:
Protection Paladin
Frost DK
DPS:
Feral Druid
MM Hunter
Surv Hunter
Arcane Mage
Demo Warlock
Ele Shammy (that goes resto when needed)
Healers:
Holy/Dis Priest
Resto Druid
This is the makeup I run for 10's, it works nicely.
This is pretty good, and what my guild almost runs. If I had completely control, I'd say prot pally > Warrior, have the DK tank be blood and the DPS be frost. This setup IMO is one of the best.Originally Posted by Modez
My ten man group (10/12 HM) runs...
Prot Warrior
Prot Pally
Resto Druid
Resto Shaman
Disco Priest
Combat Rogue (me)
Ret Pally
Ele Shaman
Arcane Mage
MM Hunter
We just got together as a group a few weeks ago, got LK down ten days ago, and have gone 10/12 in the six hours following that. We're stuck on H-Sindragoa right now with something stupid always wiping us in P3. Usually a healer with unchained, a healer tombed, and another healer set to be tombed... get's us every time.
Keep Calm and Chive On!
We use the following set up
Tanks;
Prot warrior
Prot warrior
Melee;
Unholy Dk
Muti Rogue
Enhance Shaman
Ranged;
Shadow priest
MM hunter
Healers;
Resto shammy
Resto druid
Holy Pala
1 of each class
for epicness
spec as necessary
1) Prot Pala
2) Prot Warr
3) Holy Pala
4) Disc Priest
5) Resto Shaman
6) Balance Druid
7) Shadowpriest
8) Warlock
9) Rogue
10) MM Hunter
Tanks
Prot Warr
Druid (Me, can go resto)
Healers
HPriest (Can go Disc)
HPala (Can go Ret)
RShaman (Can go Enh)
DPS
Unholy DK (Has DW Frost DPS and a pretty decent tank set, useful for princes)
Warlock (Various specs)
Boomkin (Can go tank)
Rogue
Hunter (This guy has 7 Chars at 80, 5 of which can raid at ICC 25 level, he can bring almost anything)
We run pretty smoothly, but we really miss a mage in our setup

Well this is what we run with and it works good:
Tanks
Prot Warrior
Feral Druid
DPS
Demo lock
Boomkin
MM hunter
Ret pally
Combat Rogue
Healers
Resto shaman
Disct Priest
Resto druid
I run with this setup, not so good, but no problem reach 11/12hc - 2 saves after Litch kill.
Tanks: warrior, blood DK
DPS: fury warrior, ret. paladin, hunter, hunter, shadow
Heals: holy paladin, shaman, drood ( Moonkin off)
Skill >>> Setup
Tanks:
Protection Paladin
Frost/Blood Death Knight
Healers:
Discipline Priest
Restoration Druid
Holy Paladin
DPS:
Arcane Mage
Elemental Shaman
Marksman Hunter
Combat Rogue
Warlock
My group that never really fails and we usually get 8/12 or so with pugs is:
Tanks:
Me (Prot paladin)
Frost death knight
Healers:
Resto Druid
Holy Paladin
DPS:
Elemental shaman (with resto OS)
MM Hunter
Combat Rogue
Destro Warlock
Fury warrior
Shadow priest (with healer OS if shaman doesn't have one)
Never ceases to fail yet so i like the setup
Tanks: Paladin and Warrior
Healers: Resto Druid, Holy Paladin
Dps: MM Hunter, UH Dk, Feral Druid, Arc Mage, Shadow Priest ( holy OS ) and Retri Paladin
My setup is build arownd what my friends played
Disp/shadow priest
Holy/Shadow Priest
Prot/retpala x 2
Fury/prot warrior
Resto/balance druid
Arcane mage
Hunter
Elemental shaman
Affli lock
9/12 hardmodes down, 3hrs raid per week, and not overgrered via 25mans or well, i was, but the rest were just 232/245 geared when we startet
Basicly what everybody is saying:
2 tanks , class doesn't matter
3 healers, class doesn't matter , at least 1 needs to have dps offspec
5 dps - class doesn't matter , try to get some synergy between them so they 'boost' eachothers dps (aka a boomkin and the rest all melee is kinda not that).
1 person should be a shammie for BL.

Though I have to say I like that setup as well.Originally Posted by waddlez
