    demanding DBM for pugs?

i'm wondering, if i were to demand DBM for any ToC/ICC pug i would lead, would that mean we wipe less?

or is a retard with an addon that tells him not to stand in fire still a retard?

edit: for the less... addon-educated amongst us, i'm not talking about some item, i'm talking about Deadly Boss Mods, an addon that shows cooldown timers and cast timers for many boss abilities and even some trash, showing people when they should pay special attention.

@OP, this is a fine idea. Only bad players would say otherwise.

im sure that be mean the addon called Deadly boss mods (DBM) not deathbringers will (DBW).

Addons don't fix bads. People should have it or one of the other encounter mods out there...makes life easier, but doesn't play the game for you.

What boss does Deadly Boss Mods drop from?
    I GOT DIBS ON NEXT!!!!!11!!11

To OP: It may help, but in general, if they stare at the pretty numbers and their action bar cooldowns, chances are they will ignore the warning and die in fire anyway. I would give it a shot, maybe you can filter some of the bads before you even start.

If someone cant stay out of fire...how are they even going to set up the addon. They would probably have it so every timer appeared directly over their character or completely covering the center of their screen.

I would say DBM is an idiots guide to "dont stand in the fire".

Most people who pug are just looking for a boost, not all but a lot of them, so telling them to go get an addon which wouldn't improve their performance much anyway wouldn't really help plus if they don't have it already and your demanding it the effort of going to download it for a few bosses would deter them from joining..

If they aren't used to using the addon what are they going to do when they see all these warnings popping up on their screens? They won't even know what the debuffs are called or what to do so more than likely they will end up getting themselves killed and other clueless people in the process.

It just wouldn't work basically people don't have the capacity to learn an addon and how to use it in a few minutes.

That's the way I see it going down.. just my opinion on it.

    Re: demanding DBM for pugs?

OP : Yes the addon would generally help, however some characters might still fail. Your biggest problem would be that people might leave when you ask this though.

ha! i'm with you Abb, reading ftl!

on topic, myeh i'd imagine most players who plan on stepping foot in ICC/ToC (or any other wrath raid tbh) use DBM, or some other boss mod

    Re: demanding DBM for pugs?

I have never used DBM during these 5 years I play WoW and never have I missed it.
No one even says something about it after we played for a bit.
    What is worth fighting for?

I think having either DBM or BigWigs required is very reasonable. (having these add-ons is at least an indication that the player is ready to raid.)

I would definitely require it for pugs. A lot of people are experienced enough to not need it but when you get a guy in raid who has never done a fight and doesn't have any kind of boss mods you end up with a professional syndragosa raid ice block maker like I ran into the other night lol

Like you are not using it...you know all fights by heart...ufffff

    @OP: Try it...
    - dunno how you will check that they have it
    - dunno how will you know they know what it does...but....

Who doesn't have DBM or Big Wigs?

    Re: demanding DBM for pugs?

Requiring a boss mod add-on can't hurt but it the truly bad people will still be bad.
