Appearance: The Paladin is reasonably tall and muscular from days spent on the field of battle and elsewhere; he, for the most part, cuts the appearance of the "hero" archetype. His hair is cut short and done with a military sense, complimented by a neat goatee that sits trim upon his chin. Eyes are a stunning shade of blue; stare constantly attempting to pierce through the soul of whomever he's looking at. At this time, his armor is peculiar for a Paladin; thick plates worked to resemble skulls and bands of runic power. All of his equipment bears the same grim mark, obtained from Arthas' own at the Citadel he's hiding within. There's a sense of determination about him; the sense that if he throws himself at a situation long enough, it will break before he does. Parts of visible flesh show hints of a harsh and cruel existence, scarred all about. Normally, each scar tells a story, but he can't remember how he received a majority of them. Instead, he sardonically grunts, "Murlocs...", when asked about the particulars.

Bio: Joseph spent his formative years growing up in Stratholme, the Jewel of Lordaeron. Formerly a port city, the boy grew up in its reconstruction after the Second War. His father had been a footman, his mother a nurse in the field. With parents familiar with the military and what it could offer, they mutually decided that they had no desire to see their boy grow up that way. So, when he requested to join the armies of the Alliance, he was instead told to choose the slightly safer job of becoming a Cleric. The father was slightly saddened to see the boy relegated to a book-worm's life, in spite of how safe it was. However, he would be given a second opportunity to be proud of his son when the Clerics came to Elizabeth and James with news of the boy's progress. His skill in the Light was impressive, but his aggression held him back from being an effective healer. They suggested, instead, that he consider Paladin training. The mother was furious that the suggestion was even made, but the father took a stand. No Kilgannon had ever been a Paladin; if Joseph could make the cut, then he deserved the opportunity.

However, things do not always end up the way we expect them to.

Mere days before he was to be shipped off to begin his training, Stratholme was assaulted by an unexpected enemy. Prince Arthas Menethil, wayward heir to the throne of Lordaeron attacked Stratholme and slaughtered many of her innocent inhabitants under the assumption that they would all become mindless undead and deserved a neater death at his hands. It was through luck and coincidence that Joseph, his family, and a handful of others escaped. A soldier accompanying Arthas would allow them exit through the service gate, permitting them to wander the Lordaeron wilderness until they came upon the Lordaeron Capital City. Although they had regaled others with tales of their survival, it reflected poorly upon the crown to have all of this talk of betrayal. Joseph and family would be offered asylum in Stormwind City, where Joseph could finally begin his training. Terenas, in the meantime, would be consumed by his own love for his son...And when Prince Arthas returned, he would be slain and the kingdom would crumble.

Hungry for revenge, Joseph trained. He learned all that he possibly could and accepted the Light as the only possible means through which he could show Arthas the error of his ways. He has sworn, since that night, to not rest well until Arthas has breathed his last breath. Now, as he leads a small force into the bowels of the unholy Lich King's Citadel, he realizes how close he is. By the end of his engagement, he is fully aware that only one of them can come out of this alive.
