Gold Spammers.

Is there anything being done about them? Its quite annoying to see all bar 1 of the "new posts" on the front page as gold sellers. And what makes it worse is the bads tht bump them...

Why can there not be a 1 Day restriction before posting on new accounts or even a scrambled letter authentication for all posters with <100 posts?

The 1-Day restriction could be a pain to do as there are some that come to this website for the first time with a legit question. As for the scrambled letter authentication, that's a pretty good idea.

We are currently thinking of ways to stop Gold Spammers. Unfortunately, this is not as easy at it seems.

Current situation:

• Gold Spammer Bot creates an account and starts creating topics.
• We get reports and ban + delete.
• We see them in the news post and ban + delete (If possible).
• Gold spammers re-create Topics if not dealt with correctly.

Planned situation:

• Filter that looks at the previous messages of a user and makes double posting impossible.
• Certain names will be mailed to the Moderators on creation.

Best way to deal with it at the moment:

• Report and ignore.
• Do NOT post in those threads.
• Sit back and enjoy the rest of mmo champion.
