It's fairly worthless until you reach higher levels of Fury and Arms, for Prot it remains worthless. In Cat I imagine the worth of Slam will go down with the introduction of Furious Sundering (should they choose to keep it) but that all depends on the amount of damage they give to FS.

It pauses the swing timer these days. You used to have to time it between your white attacks, but not anymore. Generally its used as an instant cast by fury warriors.
