Probably.
The question is...will there be any weapons that are worth equipping that aren't "Main Hand" only. And if not, at least Elemental has the Searing Flames talent to fall back on.

/agree, although i'm only getting 2 points into it w/o sacrificing anything valuable in elemental

You probably won't be taking DW... Blizz will find a way to prevent us from taking it. Searing Flames is something else... we'll have to see how that works out and if we have the points for it.

It's either intended or something that they haven't fixed yet since it's still subject to many changes. I'm hoping the first though, me shaman is resto/elem and I wouldn't mind dwing that.
